Question Tech diving on HMAS Brisbane?

I'm keen to dive the HMAS Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast. The local dive shops' websites say that dives are limited to 50 minutes. That seems rather short for a big boat. I'm tec / advanced wreck trained.. and would prefer to do one long dive than 2 short ones... Any ideas if this is feasible...

    exostosis & otitis externa

Hi I've posted here before about recurrent otitis externa and got some helpful ideas... However, am just back from a diving holiday with a rip-roaring otitis externa. I'm not using vosol as a preventor currently as it irritates my ears. I do have the 'ear dryer' and use that. I also use almond...

    Otitis Externa prevention

I've been struggling with recurrent otitis externa post tropical diving and am after any suggestions for prevention. I used to get otitis externa prior to diving / when I wasn't diving so guess I am a little prone to it. I am a bit atopic and often have 'itchy' ears when my hayfever is bad. i...

Hi. I'm looking at doing a week long liveaboard in the Maldives in march 2018. I'm looking at Scubaspa Yang for their "Central Atolls" trip versus Emperor Orion for their Southern Central 7 Atolls trip. Any thoughts... as a boat Scuba Spa looks amazing, but does have a lot of people on board. I...

    Gallipoli World War 1 wrecks

I've seen a local dive trip advertised to Gallipoli to dive the World War 1 wrecks. From a historical perspective it sounds incredible. I understand the wrecks have more recently opened up to divers, but I'm struggling to find information and probably more importantly for me, reviews. The...

I have a conference to go to in Noumea in October (woohoo!) and am looking at extending my stay to do some diving. I was wondering about 2-3 days diving in Noumea pre conference and then heading over to the north - east coast for 3 days post conference. I'm after advice re dive shops / where...

    DCI hit in Fiji

I was on a liveaboard in Fiji last year when a fellow diver got bent. It was scarey as hell and has made me reconsider a few things regarding my diving. Some parts of this story are vague as I don't know what / why things happened and others I've kept vague for privacy reasons. Day 2 of a...

    Goat Island

Yesterday I went for a dive at Goat Island. I haven't been there for years but I recall snorkelling amonst huge snapper, fish everywhere and yesterday I was appalled at the lack of marine life... a few small snapper, a few crays but hard to find, no kina. The vis wasn't great and there was a...

Trip Report Galapagos Sky Review 21-28 Aug 2016

I'm just back from this trip and since I use sites such as scubaboard to book trips, I feel obliged to provide a trip report for others to see. To summarise in one word 'awesome' in 5 words 'best trip I've ever done'. I booked the trip through liveaboard.com, no problems there. The Galapagos...

    Heartburn / reflux after diving

I was wondering if any others have encountered similar problems. I don't usually get heartburn or reflux. Occasionally I will if I have a heavy night of drinking but it would be pretty unusual. I went on a week long liveaboard trip in March and loved it but toward the end was suffering from...
