    PO2 dive computer warning

I'd set the warning to whichever ever level I am personally comfortable with. That's generally 1.4, some alarm at 1.3, that's what yours seem to be doing? Otherwise, turning it off and monitoring depth responsibly in silence. I dislike noisy computers and would rather be attentive. Cameron

1000 posts and still not Red?

I'm not red, washing dishes and mopping floors to express gratitude. Nearly a decade of lurking and reading before I started posting. My health as a diver likely strongly correlated to what I've learned from you all. Cameron

Coz Week of March 18th, 2019

Depending where you stay and your evening pass times it's possible the spring break crowd will be pretty invisible. For the weather, maybe a north wind by the 20th. It's a long way into the future still so I make no predictions... Besides it isn't snow and the water is lovely! Here's a...

    Pez Leon eating turtle

Quite certain it was a green sea turtle I saw from a distance feeding on a lion fish a few months back. Wasn't close enough to ID it. Anyone speculate why she isn't herbivores like we think she should be? Cameron

Just ditch it! – MAKO free Weight Belt replacement policy

I am likely alive due to ditching a weight system. Taking cost of replacement out of the decision making process in an emergency is kind. Surprisingly, it's a significant factor. Thank you. Cameron

New to cold water - overweight?

Sounds like a bit too much. But remember, the right amount of lead at 15ft feels WAY HEAVY at depth when your super thick wetsuit compresses and loses much of it's buoyancy. It isn't like a thin tropical wetsuit where lead is mainly for our body fat and the suit is a small % of the total...

    Canister vs handheld

Some say canister lights are a dying breed with brighter longer lasting handheld torches becoming available. A while ago the technology wasn't accessible. Now it is. I do like a can light because it stays attached to me when I drop it. Some people also like the canister for tucking a hose...

    Focus light

I can guarantee it won't be squared away after a dozen trips even. My friend uses a red focus light with great success. Enjoy the journey.

Looking for Scenic Shore Discover Dive

Best I can tell, it's available once you pay entrence to the tourist area. In house dive op with tanks, rental gear and (I hope) an instructor. @RayfromTX might have first hand info from a couple years back... Here's some info I just found online: I really do hope you consider other options...

Looking for Scenic Shore Discover Dive

Glad to hear your considering a test dive back home. I've enjoyed helping people with many shapes and conditions enjoy diving. Among them are a good 200 who certainly couldn't climb a dive boat ladder and yet love diving. If you can get in touch with someone who understands adapting diving to...

    What's a good SAC

Depending who I'm diving with I am between .36 cubic feet per minute and 2.0 cf/m RMV. Workload, health, mindset and environment all have a significant part. Practicing efficient breathing patterns also radical changed my consumption.

    Lost dive scooter: flotsam

There was confusion as to who was tending it during predive gearing up in the shallows and it snuck off down current in the fog of war and dusk light. A good minute head start was all it needed to make the getaway. (A Salvo mojo scooter is infamous for burning down a hotel in Florida near cave...

    Lost dive scooter: flotsam

A variety of theoretical models has been proposed to explain why salvo mojo must begin their international migration. One suggestion is deep within their lithium cells, they all have the urge to return to the Cadillac Hotel. (and wow, it feels horrible losing a scooter :( )
