    Diving off of Kure Beach?

Is anyone going to be in the Wilmington area on July 19th, 20th, or 21st and interested to dive this? Will be in the area that time to dive from California where I do a ton of beach diving. Looking to boat dive while over there, but this would be very cool.

    Best Kayak for Diving?

Yep - a buddy and I have been doing some fairly serious kayak diving. We've been diving the wrecks off of Redondo and Santa Monica and some rock piles. We've done the Palawan, Avalon, and Star of Scotland. On the 30Dec, we dove some rock piles off of Santa Monica at night for lobster. We're...

SoCal Dive Reports - Let us know about your dive!

Dove Harrison's Reef at County Line last night. Got in the water right after sunset. Surface was a bit choppy from wind, and the area in front of the condos was a bit wash machine-like. But once on the outside and underwater, the viz was good and surge was only moderate at times. Temp was...

Instructor / Dive Training - Philly to Cape May

I'm trying to help my sister get certified. She is in Camden County SJ, and can easily get into Philadelphia. But, she's also open to anything that would be in the AC Expressway and Parkway corridor down to Cape May. I haven't been back to the area in years, and I know nothing of who to...

SoCal Dive Reports - Let us know about your dive!

My first time this morning to Whale Rock at Vicente Point in PV after we arrived to find OML is closed until sometime into June. Me and another buddy dived it right during the outgoing tide. What a spot! Cardiac Hill, rocky entry, and the kelp bed was SUPER thick! Then a looong kick out to...

Kayak Diving - who's doing it?

But why tow??? Seems like unnecessary extra work.

Kayak Diving - who's doing it?

Nope - just operator error here. Let me try this again starting with pics first.

Kayak Diving - who's doing it?

Something went wrong there. I was trying to post some video of the dive, but have obviously failed. Not sure how it ended up in the other reply too. #thingsthatmakeyougohmmm

    Looks like it would work!

Kayak Diving - who's doing it?

Slightly perhaps. Lengthwise, the two are probably close. Mine is a tandem made for 2 people, so I think it's got more load capacity.

Kayak Diving - who's doing it?

Because this is a dive thread too... On this day, there was little, but it's the Pacific.

Kayak Diving - who's doing it?

My buddy had a sonar that he used. We navigated out via GPS coordinates that he stored, and used the sonar to find the wreck so that we anchored nearby and not right on it. I don't think his is as fancy as a sidescan though; that's legit!

Kayak Diving - who's doing it?

Forgot to add ... my original plan was to secure the second tank into my other BCD and not have to fiddle with changing out tanks. But, my buddy convinced me that it's a good skill to get proficient at. In the end, I'm glad I didn't just as a matter of simplicity in the amount of gear brought...
