    My rule of thumb for 3-mm is about 150 dives and I stretch it for about 50 more dives. After that, its time to retire it and get a new one.

    I just read your thread now. I would think one of the reasons for lack of responses is probably because scuba divers would rather purchase a watch-type dive computer instead -- at least that's what I would do. I'm sorry I can't contribute as to which bottom timer is better.

    If you're really dead-set on the discontinued TUSA IQ-700, you could also check out its brothers -- the Dive Rite Nitek Duo (discontinued), the Apeks Quantum, the Cressi Archimede II, Zeagle N2ITION and the IST Data+ GP-3000. They're all made by Seiko from the same platform. Hope this helps.
