Hi all,
Which brand of S40 cuf (5.7l) tank would you recommend to use as a bailout?
I've heard that the Catalinas are less buoyant and act like a steel tank when empty while the Luxfers are more buoyant when empty. The Luxfers are supposed to be "better" in that they do not change your...
I own the Hollis Ride (37lb) version. The crotch straps gets in the way of removing the weight belt easily, although you can get around this if you add the optional Hollis Quick release weight pockets on the front of the unit (at an extra cost). The good thing about the Ride is that it can be...
I beg to differ with your analogy of the Boxster. The Boxster and it's sister car, the Cayman are superior cars than the venerated 911 in terms of driving dynamics, balance and handling being mid-engined vehicles - Porsche chose to handicap them with smaller engines because they knew that they...
The new Petrel 2s now come with two velcro strips (that act as loops) that hold the excess strap tails in place. I just purchased a Petrel 2 for my wife and it came with the velcro loops while my Petrel 2 purchased early this year didn't come with them.
You can make you own velcro loops by...
I just saw this post today and I am shocked to hear of her passing. I enjoyed reading Lynne's posts and learnt a lot from them. My Condolences for your loss.
Instead of adding Trimix later because the marketing department wants to launch the new product as soon as possible. Why don't you just wait till all of the functions are working and tested before doing so? This will save the hassle of customers having to upgrade the computer after launch.
Why...
The only difference btw the Petrel and Petrel 2 is that the Petrel 2 has a compass. I have the Petrel 2.
Depending on how long your minimum focussing distance is (in my case it is long enough that even I find the Petrel 2 readout is a bit blurry when it sits next to the crook of my arm). The...
If you can still find one, the Zeagle Lazer BCD the female cut/version of the Zeagle Stilletto BCD. It is very well made and you can customise it to fit easily (within the size range).

There was another post somewhere else on scubaboard where an Oceanic dealer (who has dived with both versions of the jetpack) said that Oceanic have fixed the tank lifting issue with the Jetpack on the latest Oceanic branded version.
I suffer from age related presbyopia too and just got a Petrel 2. The larger colour screen does help a bit but it is still blurry due to the (short) distance it sits on my arm. It depends on how bad your age related presbyopia is. A better fix would be to get gauge readers installed in your mask.
I played with the T1 at the Oztek show a few weeks ago. The wheel interface is very intuitive. I prefer it over the push button interface of my Petrel 2. I cannot tell you how it is sealed however. I will get one when they are released mid year.
The DM - our mutual friend wanted to carry on saying that the viz would be ok. i.e. not to be a wuss. In hindsight I should have just followed my gut feeling to not join the dive and leave.
On the bright side, I now know what to do pre-dive. i.e. be anal.
