    Nitrox limits

I am new here, and I apologise in advance if this doesn't make any sense. I heard that, according to the GUE standards, Nitrox limits are more conservative than the "regular ones". Is this correct, or have I understood wrong ? Thank you.

So, what is a good Skipper ?

I always thought the Skippers were the people who had to drive the boat. In diving, some of them had the added bonus of helping divers with the equipment. The ones I met so far, help a bit, some are really helpfull, and a few don't really care much. I recently realised there a bit more to be...

    Problem in a "Rescue" class

I did :( ... remember ? in the pool :( ... but now that I know what it can be, if it ever happens, I will try not to bolt :)

    Problem in a "Rescue" class

Your description fits exactly what I felt. Now I understand it was not the regulator - it was me. I can't imagine how much control your friend had when he felt that in a cave. However, from the point of view of a rescuer, what can done to avoid this when giving air to a diver that is...

    Problem in a "Rescue" class

Yes. No. Not really. When I reached the surface I thought the flow had not been enough. ---------- Post added July 28th, 2015 at 03:08 PM ---------- 1. No, the choking had nothing to do with the regulator, I breathed water during the regulators exchange. 2. It could be, but my...

    Problem in a "Rescue" class

I am not sure how to explain this - mostly because it was treated as irrelevant by the instructor and the other divers. So, I have a feeling that I am over-reacting. But, here goes: I was invited to be "the victim" in a Rescue class , but ended up doing the exercises also. At some point, we...

Back from the Azores - a dangerous dive in a "difficult spot"

What is a "sepate zodiac" ? :) ---------- Post added July 22nd, 2015 at 11:50 AM ---------- That's how I feel, exactly. A lot of adrenaline, but no panic. And certainly a fabulous learning experience.

Back from the Azores - a dangerous dive in a "difficult spot"

I am back from a small island in the Azores. The dives were fabulous, in several environments, and I can say I learned a lot. Azores sea can be rough, especially with strong currents, so it was all new to me. One of the dives was in a spot that is considered difficult, (but I only learned...

    "Sports drinks"

Storker, I am quoting this again to thank you once more. Yesterday I went for my AOW "deep dive" and took milk with powered cocoa (and some bread with cheese and ham lol ... but that is usual)... I can tell you I loved it. It worked fine before and after the dive. Next time I will mix the cocoa...

    "Sports drinks"

I like the idea of the chocolate, with or without milk ... I will think about this, because "milk chocolat" is a cause for migraines ... however "dark chocolat" in small quantities is ok (for me anyway). Maybe I can make my own chocolat drink. Wow, I wish I had it in those winter mornings when I...

    "Sports drinks"

How was your first night dive ?

:d :d :d ---------- Post added April 29th, 2015 at 11:56 PM ---------- You are right, of course. But I was terribly afraid of diving, due to a very bad time in a "Scuba Diving Experience". It was not easy, but I worked hard an conquered my fears. I guess I will just try and work on this one...

How was your first night dive ?

One day I will probably do a night dive, but the idea is a bit scary, mainly because I am afraid of the dark :) At first, I thought I would never try it, but I am getting curious ... So I am just wondering how that kind of dive was for you :) Thanks !
