Saba is great--pinnacle and seamounts and the first protected marine park in the Caribbean. It's safe and friendly and has a rain forest up top with nice hiking. My wife and I have a villa there. We do have some availability in April and would give a nice discount to any Board members...
It's a young island. Few real beaches but amazing diving. No runoff and very clear water. Volcanic reefs. Not the place for a beach vacation but hey- this is a diving forum! Also outstanding rainforest hiking at the higher elevations.
The whole island is five square miles, so nothing is far! SeaSaba provides free transport to the boats, and we provide free transport to and from the airport so you don't need a car.
We can also get you 10% off all diving as well as the lodging.

My wife and I recently purchased the nicest and largest rental villa on the island of Saba. We are partnering with SeaSaba to offer a 10% discounted package to dive the AMAZING Saba marine park. If you don't know Saba, it is the little-known gem of the Caribbean--beautiful, unspoiled, great...
I dove Saba for the first time last week and loved the place. I'm thinking of buying a two-bedroom house on Windwardside to stay in when visiting and to rent out to divers when not. I'd like to gauge the general interest folks might have in staying in a house vs a hotel there.
Is anyone...
I bought a couple of them for me and my gf. Did two tanks with it and really liked it! Our divemaster tried it out and enjoyed it as well. Even the comm system worked well. The only negatives: price and need to take the whole thing off to go to an Octo or pony. We kept a plain mask around...
It would be relatively easy to check and see if American/PADI certified divers have accidents at a rate distinct from those trained elsewhere. Any stats?
Doesn't work for me. I bought one of the earliest units, and I bet it needs a hardware update. I''l try again with a Mac but I bet the unit will have to be replaced.
I'm having trouble getting the Firmware updated. I am using a PC, but could use a Mac if better. I get an error message every time I try to do the upgrade. Does anyone have any tips for how to get past this?
Thanks!
Have there been any recent reports of failure with the OmniSwivel Standard 360? I've heard about concerns from posts that are a few years old. But does the 'death screw' still deserve the nickname?
I read earlier threads from a few years ago about mechanical failure with these 360 swivels. There is a screw that has been referred to, somewhat unaffectionately, as the 'death screw.' I note that the folks who sold me these didn't use any such term while talking me into the purchase. I did...
Older divers, or any with cardiac or other medical histories that could lead to loss of consciousness, should consider using FFM. Sooner or later we will hear stories about people surviving LOC episodes because they were wearing one.
My girlfriend and I each carry a 3cu ft Spare Air. While I agree that 3cu ft doesn't offer much, it's unlikely that we would both need to use our spares. 6cu ft is enough for one of us to get to the surface even with a safety stop. We are recreational only, and don't go below 70ft open water...
It's true a diver should have a good sense of how much air is left in the tank without having to look at any type of gauge. However, diving without any gauge is completely reckless, of course. I use an Aeris A300 CS with the transmitter, but have an SPG as well. It's not much extra crap to...
