    Dive at New Orleans

Ben, i think the problem is that near New Orleans the water is quite brown from the outflow of the Mississippi River, unless you go far offshore. You might as well travel to the panhandle of Florida for diving by that time. Hope that helps.

Wetsuit for my skinny son...help please

Bare and 4th element make great stuff, but if fit is the problem for those, layer Lavacore type merino shirts and neoprene vests under the suits-as many as he can fit under it to stop the water flush.

Suunto Eon Steel And Its Algorithm Lock Logic.

The Eon is a well built computer, but it has some very big flaws in my opinion. The algorithm is the most problematic, well covered here in this thread. But, i didn't see it mentioned that this thing is HEAVY, which means it more likely flop around. It's charging system is reliant on a dongle...

... support for my CooToo (edited)

I never sent an email to "am@divenav.com." I sent an email in early 2017 to "customer.service@divenav.com" just as requested by the person emailing me from "am@divenav.com." Now, contrary to what "am@divenav.com" told me in the email, you now state that "customer.serviceS@divenav.com"...

... support for my CooToo (edited)

I emailed their "customer.service@divenav.com" in early 2017 and a few times after with no response. Finally, I got an email from "am@divenav.com" that the "customer.service@divenav.com" is not longer used because of spam and to use "customer.service@divenav.com" as the "new" customer support...

    Kittiwake cleanup photos 16-October

Very cool, please keep updating this thread with news about the site. I'd like to follow along with the news about the differences in diving the wreck and any other operations to secure it against further movement.

    Almost unconscious during Dive

I would look into the neck seal too. This is no joke, I've seen a short video about a dive accident where a public safety diver trainee fainted and died due to neck seal constriction.

Diving with Mantas in August - Where to?

Yap actually has great manta diving, but it's done in shallow channels over feeding stations during the changing of the tides. This means there will be significant current and the viz will be much different than on the reefs--green water from the mangrove/bays 50-70 ft viz.

... support for my CooToo (edited)

Just found this thread. I've had nothing but problems with configuring, calibrating and three failed attempts to actually use it for analyzing gas on scuba trips. I really would like some answers on how to get out of this thing. At one time, I was actually able to connect it to the app and...

This is the exact type of question that DAN (mentioned above) is perfect for. Get a membership and call. In fact, I think they'll answer your questions without a membership... They are HAPPY to help with this stuff and are the leaders in this area of medicine.

    Looking for new dive computer

I know it's not on your list, but the Shearwater Perdix should always be considered, even if you're not looking for the technical aspects. It's recreational mode is simple and reliable. One issue: If you plan on doing liveaboard/ diving, you'll notice that on repeated dives various computers...

    Little Cayman Tec Dive Training

I can give a wholehearted recommendation to Drew (Scoobydrew) and Divetech. They are responsible for creating tech diving in Cayman and have several world class instructors. I've done lots of tech diving and some training with them--always a good experience. Their facebook and other sites give...

    Dive Tech

DiveTech has lots of very experienced DMs who have lots of technical training/certs as well. Of course, most of their business is recreational, so they do that well too. The difference they offer is shore diving from Lighthouse point. You can book a boat (short drive in bus to dock) or rent...
