    CAVE DIVING ETIQUETTE

John, again, very sorry for any poor behavior or anything else. None of us had any clue any of this was going on. If you can, please pass this apology on to your group.

    CAVE DIVING ETIQUETTE

Hi John, nice to meet you. I have a few things to say, but first I want to get down to the biggest reason I logged on to Scubaboard today (I rarely do since I keep fairly busy with work, diving, and being a mom) I want to offer a sincere apology for any perceived wrong-doing that resulted when...

    WARM Wetsuits for Petite Woman

The Bare Evoke starts at a size 2 with a height of 5"2"-5'4". I would look at it as a contender. I've been really happy with my 5mm, the celliant (which I blew off as a gimmick at first) does actually do it's job and keeps me warmer for longer than expected. I love the cut on the suit and it's...

    Need a Chamber in Florida?

This is a major problem down here in Central Florida as well. Our closest chamber to treat divers is in Valdosta , GA and the chamber there is VERY small. I have had a number of friends and customers have to make the trip. Unfortunately, paying to staff a chamber 24-7 to treat dive accidents is...

The Rule of Fun: what do you do when you aren't having any?

IMO it sounds like you are not simply talking about 'fun' you are also talking about safety. Safety takes top priority to me and trumps 'fun' or anything else. If for whatever reason to me the dive takes a turn into un-safe (even if it's just gut instinct) I call the dive. No if-and-or but...

    Florida Dive Sites!

This book is a very good resource if you don't already own it. There are more places to dive in Florida than you can possibly imagine. I like that this book breaks down different sections of Florida. Don't forget there are inland dives in the springs when the boats are blown out. There's always...

    Demographics: Old and the young?

Under 30's is uncommon for tech and Cave, when my husband and I started tech and cave diving in our 20's we were almost always the youngest people on the boat or at the dive site. I'm in my 30's now, and I'm still fairly young. It seems to me in cave country there has been a slight increase of...

picking out first reg and question about a "balanced" second stage

Yes, we do have a few Z2 and a b/m set of M1 in our rental fleet. I'd like to add more over the next few months.

Recommendation for Cave course in Florida

Good to 'meet' you! I know you will have a wonderful time learning cave in Florida! We had a few guys from China a few months back come in and do some training and they told us about your wonderful caves. I hope to someday make a visit! As far as finding an instructor goes, I always recommend...

    Atomic Z2 for deco/stage bottles

In the case of Jon and I, yes, every piece of gear we are currently diving was chosen because it was what we considered the best gear for the projects we are involved in. In fact, we became SUEX dealers AFTER having decided that these scooters were the right ones for the job. We bought the...

    Atomic Z2 for deco/stage bottles

While there may be some truth to this, actually Jon and I have paid for our Atomic regulators (we have NOT been given these items, in fact there are very few things we have ever gotten free). Just want to clarify this. Jon and I have both tried a number of regulators from different manufacturers...

    Atomic Z2 for deco/stage bottles

I do. 50% is a standard gas and for certain dives is VERY handy. There are a lot of dives here in cave country I would absolutely not do without a 50% bottle, particularly with enough gas in it that if I lost that 100% bottle for some reason I'd at least have my 50% to finish my decompression on.

    Rebreathers and proper profiles

This really depends on a few variables... for one, the design of the canister and counter lungs, the water trapping ability of the unit, and the flood tolerance. Units vary. I always suggest doing try dives on the units of interest if at all possible. A try dive longer than an hour is preferable...

    Key Largo diving 8-7 -8-8

Did some great diving with Rainbow Reef Dive Center this week. It's really rare I get to dive the salty stuff since I dive mostly caves but I had an enjoyable time despite a few big waves out there. I even took a few photos out on Molasses: Thanks @jebernot for...
