For Sale Mini Doubles Rig for sale- never used.

I am re-listing a set of mini-doubles that I advertized two years ago but had to travel to Australia suddenly because my father became unwell and I didn't make it back to the US for nearly a year. I apologize to any persons interested at the time and now they are up for sale again. So up for...

Closed Complete unused mini doubles rig for quick sale.

Ok thanks for the interest and PM's, in order to be fair I had to commit to the first person who actually said "I'll take them" so the rig is sold pending payment. Thanks

Closed Complete unused mini doubles rig for quick sale.

A few people interested and asking about shipping, based on 75lbs total weight shipped via UPS from Houston TX to Boston Massachusetts (I don't know if they will ship on my assurance that tanks are first depressurized- may have to remove the manifold and valves?) I see these estimated costs...

Closed Complete unused mini doubles rig for quick sale.

Hi all Up for sale is a complete mini doubles set that has never been wet. I put it together just before the pandemic because I got out of rebreathers and wanted something with more redundancy and more gas for long no-deco open water dives on 32%. Then I got bronchitis and ended up with an...

First Reg Choice Apeks XL4+ vs Deep6 Signature

Me: My SPG is leaking, do you guy's have a spare SPG HP spool or "O" rings? Liveboard DM: No! Me: OK, can I rent one of your rental regs and swap the spg onto my reg? LB DM: No, our insurance company won't allow that! Me: OK, don't worry about it I'll just dive the way it is and only lose a...

Swivel Ball Joints For 2nd Stage -- Worth It?

Is the Jetstream something new for you or have you been a closet Poseidon fan?

First Reg Choice Apeks XL4+ vs Deep6 Signature

In reference to the weight of the second stages I have been told that the D6 Signature second stage is 285 grams. This is fairly substantial but not overly heavy- the same as a HOG classic (not a coincidence!?) and selection of a good supportive mouthpiece goes a long way to resolving second...

    HOG D1X yoke to DIN?

I want to convert my spare D1X first stage from yoke to DIN. Anyone know which conversion kits will fit this and where to find relevant process/torque settings etc?

Time for a new doubles rig!

I am getting lazy but I don't have a problem servicing if their is no-one else to do it, I have previously serviced my Conshelf and Titan regs, also my Apeks and Scubapro 156 second stages, and the Deep6 service manual looks good!

Time for a new doubles rig!

The D6 does look nice and I am tempted! HOG's are still good but maybe not the best current option in terms of quality, performance, convenience and value.

Time for a new doubles rig!

Exactly my thought's The HOG's still work fine but having owned several generations of HOG's the prices have increased while I have see much evidence of cost cutting. Lately the IP's have been all over the place- anywhere from 120 to0 147psi and as a consequence supplied 2nd stages have breathed...

Time for a new doubles rig!

Replacing my HOG doubles rig and looking for pro's/ con's on my options. My budget is up to about $1000 and currently looking at: DiveRite XT DiveGear Express XTRA Deep6 Signature Getting lazy in my old age and so rather than messing around with stuff would appreciate a setup that is...

    Aqualung regs...

Thanks James I didn't know that the UK version of the Apeks second stages was different from the USA version at that time either, that difference being a small protrusion on the shuttle valve that limited detuning the cracking pressure- seemed silly to me and I filed it off with an obvious...

    Aqualung regs...

Do you recall what the IP was on the Core Supreme before you bumped it up? Did you need to adjust the cracking pressure on the second stage afterwards? I bought an Apeks TX100 from the UK once about 15 years ago and it breathed like crap until I filed off a small bump on the shuttle valve that...

    Atomic Aquatic Regulators.

A little off topic but not worth starting a new thread for IMO. Is the current quality of Atomic regs on a par with the pre-Huish ones?

Rant about the racket made by scuba regulators!!!

I'd rather not wear earplugs if possible but I certainly do wear a hood on just about every dive. Argonaut Krakens are OK, I've owned two and found that I could seem to get closer to fish with my cameras, presumably because my upper body was blocking some of the noise/vibrations from the...

Rant about the racket made by scuba regulators!!!

My first ever dive in 1976 was on a USD And If I plumbed in a LP gas line from the lower central buttock region of my wetsuit to connect with the snorkel shaft at the correct angle I could raise the resultant venturi effect to further reduce WOB, it would some coordination of breathing and...

Rant about the racket made by scuba regulators!!!

There is no automatic connection between quietening the perceived noise of exhaust bubbles and increased WOB. This is a design issue and there are regs on the market today that have a high level of segments (for lack of a better description) in the exit of the exhaust tees, I'm thinking of the...
