Do they charge for pool use? I know all my gear needs to be checked before I go on any dives and I really need/want to practice deploying a SMB before diving any of the White River lakes.
Hello, I just recently graduated college and start my new job tomorrow so after about a month or so I should finally have enough free time AND funds to get back into diving. I know there are the White River lakes south of me but never actually went diving there so I'm looking for shops that...
Painting them is the same as painting a metal tank, it hides possible flaws like scratches. Also, as a reminder, if looking at a composite tank make sure it is suitable for diving. Composite tanks are used in other applications such as SCBA gear for fire fighting where the weight saving is...
Hello,
I'm an engineering student in Missouri and recently finalized the paperwork for a co-op up at Kohler Co. and my aunt lives in Manitowoc so I'll be close to Lake Michigan. I'm currently (PADI) OW certified and would like to try and work toward AOW over summer on the weekends when the...
Check the US DOT spec, if it is 3AA it's the exact same as an "LP" tank. If it is 3AA it is probably a 3180 psi tank which with 10% overfill comes to 3498 psi.
Ended up grabbing the Aeris A300 Amazon had that was open box for $160 but looks like no warranty. If it survives a couple dives I'll be taking after getting I figure it will be okay, worst case there is a 30-day return if it is unusable when I get it.
The a300 should be similar to the Veo 3.0, also apparently Amazon has some on warehouse deal for under $165 as well, might be worth going for even if there isn't warranty on it.
My shipment had the standard $50 since it was in a flat rate box, which is more than I would have done if I used a box I had laying around. As far as algorithms, I know the Suunto is supposed to be fairly conservative, how does Suunto's RGBM, DSAT, and Buhlmann compare in terms of being...
So I had an issue with my Aeris Manta dive comp and sent it in but it appears USPS lost it in transit and can't find it two weeks after it was supposed to arrive at Oceanic so I'm probably going to be needing a new dive comp and need to order it no later than next Monday. It needs to be nitrox...
I saw that thread, that's the most recent mention of Sopras Sub. I've looked into it a bit more, for about an hour, and it is a Czech company that sells stuff they make, stuff made in China/Taiwan, steel tanks from someone, most likely just rebrands. It appears they sell under the names Sopras...
I've looked around on here and elsewhere online and still can't find much addressing this set up directly. I'm looking for basic BP&W set up and for $250 it is interesting and as long as the wing and backplate are fine I can put on a different harness easily enough or just make my own from...
PRICE DROP!
$200 shipped in the 48 contiguous states, willing to ship elsewhere just might cost more. Will consider other offers and trades for backplates or wings.
Finally got pictures! Also, I can do $200+shipping costs.

I'm selling my Subgear Drift jacket BCD in XL size. This BCD was bought new last August and been only 6 freshwater dives, no fading, simply selling it to switch to BP&W. This sells for $400 new, looking for $250 shipped anywhere in the contiguous US, will ship elsewhere but the cost may...
I asked this question since I bought an AT400 w/ion swivel DVT yoke when a shop was selling off all Aeris brand before the merger with 20%-40% discounts right after I finished OW classes, the handful of Oceanic dealers I've spoken with said they are authorized to service Aeris gear since most...
I ran into that with my dad's old Luxfer S80 made 6/88 which is after they stopped using 6351 on the S80 line, no where back home would even hydro it but there is a shop near me down at school that was happy to get it hydro and visual, passed on both and he will fill it but I just know I'll run...
