    DJI Action 4?

Lovely - how did you mount it? It would be great to have 67mm mounts for closeup lenses, filters and also the new AOI / Inon / Backscatter wide lenses which are apparently terrific cheers b

Wanted WTB: second-hand closeup diopter (s) in Bali

Thanks - yes, I'd contacted Andy a while back but he doesn't do second-hand unfortunately. Hi prices were similar to those of Divesea (Nauticam has a strict pricing policy and prices are pretty much the same everywhere). In the meantime, a couple of weeks ago I managed to find a second-hand...

FIGHT CRAB ! - Amed, Bali (Lumix LX10)

Hello everyone, Here's a little clip of two Rough Box Crabs fighting away in east Bali, using their remarkable claws and various attacks, holds and projection techniques to try to overpower one another, in a form of crustacean jiu-jitsu! (and remember, the first rule of Fight Crab: you do not...

Spiny Tiger Shrimps - Amed, Bali

Hi everyone, Here's a little video where you can see both a juvenile (roughly 0.5 cm in size) and a slightly larger older Spiny Tiger Shrimps (Phyllognathia ceratophthalma) Adults grow up to about 2 cm in size but also have, as seen here, have a more complex shape, with many spikes growing out...

    DJI Action 4?

Any filter mounting options for the Dji Action 4 then? 55mm / 52mm would work - I prefer working with a filter for ambient light, nicer to grade. @Pearlman - saw you were in Bali - if you're interested I do have a Backscatter MacroMate Mini +15 closeup lens to sell here if you're interested...

Clownfish Eggs in Amed, Bali (Lumix LX10)

Yep, they're really defending those eggs! i've found a way to approach which seems to work better. I setup close to the anemone (roughly on the border where the clownfish start snapping and making gnaping sounds at any intruders), then staying as low as possible, I slowly bring the camera in...

Clownfish Eggs in Amed, Bali (Lumix LX10)

Thanks! Yep, the LX10 is great - interestingly, with the 36mm crop in 4K video, it seems to do better in macro video than for photos. ☺️

Clownfish Eggs in Amed, Bali (Lumix LX10)

Hello all, There’s been a lot of spawning/nesting action in the past few weeks over in east Bali's Amed / Tulamben area, and here are a few shots of saddleback clownfish (Amphiprion polymnus, now also commonly known as Nemos...) egg patches, and showing their evolution over time ☺️ 🖥️ A...

Has anyone tested the AOI UCL-90 Pro lens? How does it compare to the Nauticam CMC1?

Looking in to the stacking options these two lenses would give me, which are such: I have an INON +6 = good for closeups, wider shots, and an AOI-UCL09 +12.5, which is a nice lens. I most often use a stacked AOI+INON +18.5 (good range but long, less working distance, loss of light compared to...

Wanted WTB: second-hand closeup diopter (s) in Bali

Hello all, This is a very long shot, but if anyone coming to Bali in the near-future (holidays?) has a closeup/macro diopter (wet lens) to sell, do let me know. The 2nd hand-market is virtually inexistant here, and importing (new or used) is not an option because of current import...

Skeleton Shrimp with Hatched Juvelines - Amed, Bali

Thanks Val - this was shot a couple of weeks ago, early November. Skeleton shrimps very active at the moment, about a week after filming this I saw another female with unhatched eggs moving in the pouch, so it must be molting/mating season.

Has anyone tested the AOI UCL-90 Pro lens? How does it compare to the Nauticam CMC1?

Hello all, I'm hesitating between these two closeup diopters, to replace the current +12.5 / +6 stack that I am using. The CMC-1 is roughly a +15 diopter, whereas the recently released AOI UCL-90 Pro is an 18.5 diopter. Both are high quality, high magnification bright lenses with a compact...

Skeleton Shrimp with Hatched Juvelines - Amed, Bali

Wow, that's amazing!!!! I wonder if it's mating season or just some kind of skeleton shrimp condo... I've never seen that many in one place! Totally agree on the worm aliens filiation - really interesting little critters. I found another orange female with unhatched eggs still in the pouch -...

Skeleton Shrimp with Hatched Juvelines - Amed, Bali

Thanks! they're tricky as quite active and also in these parts they tend to stay on hydroids or vegetation that sways a lot in even the mildest current. But they're not that shy, so a good dose of patience goes a long way!

Skeleton Shrimp with Hatched Juvelines - Amed, Bali

Wow, that's pretty wild! There must be something about your suit that attracts them - you should try to get some footage of that :)

Skeleton Shrimp with Hatched Juvelines - Amed, Bali

Thank you - yeah skeleton shrimps are really fascinating - I was planning on going back the day after shooting this, to see how things had evolved with the juveniles, but couldn't and missed the window. I'm not sure how seasonal the mating is, but will keep an eye out :) cheers b

Buoyancy suggestions for 2kg macro rig (Nauticam carbon fiber arms, etc.)

Hi, I have an LX10 in a Nauticam housing, on a flexitray - my primary float is a +900g float placed horizontally in between the handles'ball ends, to which I cable-tie another +400g float, and can add others depending on the setup (wide or macro). I don't shoot stills, only video, so need it to...
