    Orcatorch Issues

I have been using Orcatorch products nearly exclusively for several years now with only a few issues. Generally very robust, been pretty happy with them. One of my D520s was behaving similarly to the OPs and just needed the spring in the base stretched slightly. Has been performing well since.

    Gas Blending case

Very tidy set up. Nice work and simple concept.

What are you doing for dry tubes?

2nd attempt below, much less time on the lathe. Can take an 8.5kg load to be neutral in fresh water.

Question Held deciding between L&W 250 e mc and Coltri mch 16 ergo

I have a couple of L&Ws and they have been great. A petrol engined 190B from 1992 and an electric 280E from 2012. Both run great, good customer service and response from L&W head office when info required.

    Building your own scooter?

Sounds like you have the experience, would be a really cool project.

    Building your own scooter?

Aluminium cylinders that have failed testing make a cheap basis for housings. Require a lot of machining to reduce weight and some time spent learning about o rings and seals but can be very dependable

Building a new 3000 to 4000 watt battery

There are several companies that build replacement lithium batteries but that does sound big and heavy. Might be best to modify/reduce the body length to compensate for a lighter battery.

    Dry Caving Illinois Caverns

Well worth gaining some dry cave experience, if nothing else it helps you to realise how much easier it is gliding neutrally through restrictions than scrambling on hands feet and stomach. Can be a whole lot of fun.

What are you doing for dry tubes?

I have a trip coming up that involves a couple of long sumps, Cocklebiddy Cave. 1 km and 2.5km between rockpiles/air chambers that need to be traversed to continue on. Need to carry some gear dry to eat and stay warm. We have a couple of dry tubes that have been around for a while. I have just...

Question I just bought a Gavin DPV. Now what?

Weighting tip. Heavy and broad inner tube is good for holding one or two pound weights in various temporary locations.

DUI ZipSeals to Si-Tech QCS DIY

I have recently completed some repairs, three zips, two pee valves, a orust neck ring and pu cuffs. I am in Australia and used the Azbond, same as @happy-diver. It is for rubber but according to specs seems to be very similar to the SC4000. It has worked fine on both neoprene, trilam and the...

    Setting Up Cascade

Getting out in the water is better than fiddling in the shed because you can’t get out. Trimix controller sounds interesting, keen to see the outcome when you get to it.

    Setting Up Cascade

@rob.mwpropane Any further progress? I really need to get onto copying @Miyaru auto pressure sensing setup. Love that idea and just reminded myself when I came across this thread again.

Scuba Force Xpedition - current thoughts?

A mate of mine has been diving his for a year or two. Standing up really well to rough cave entries and diving. He has been really happy with it and finds it to be comfortable. Pretty bulky on him for MTM but our Australian diving isn’t as cold as other places these suits are often used.

Did you buy it? How did it go? I had a couple of these that did me proud on my learning curve.

Unique Portable Air Compressor Like You Have Never Seen Before!

That is really ******* cool. I love seeing when people go above and beyond. Unfortunately I doubt that there is much of a market for a vehicle that is basically a mobile scuba compressor.

    Compressor controller

Man that is a nice setup, love the effort that you have put in. Nearly all automation dreams come true. Nice work. My system although fairly large is setup very simply and mostly manual not including the proprietary drains and cut off. I will have to one day get on to this sort of thing...

    Setting Up Cascade

Nothing good happens quickly. 4 banks sounds great. Didn't you end up with 9 4500psi cyls. I would consider using them instead of the 3500, all the same reduces risk, harder to inadvertently overfill, while keeping things as simple as possible.

    Setting Up Cascade

Where did you get to with decisions on your bank setup? With the panel and range of cylinders you have a mass of options. Anything you do adds up quickly tho, even just tees for the valves with that many cylinders will set you back.

Another one looking for an old Bauer manual, '73 K14-85.

I never got back to you all regarding what the compressor investigation revealed. Ended up being a broken spring on the first stage inlet valve. It had managed to rattle around on top of the pistons thru to the third stage. There was a fair bit of marking on piston and head in the first stage...
