    Suunto D4i died

Try getting in touch with Suunto. I’ve previously had failures fixed by them even when I’ve been out of warranty.

Back up to the Forest - with photos

I was using a 2 piece moray 7mm wetsuit and my buddy was using a seac 7mm. It was enough to make it possible to do the dive but ideally we would have been in Drysuits at this time of year.

I think it would be best to ask your instructor to give you a hand. After all you’re paying him to teach you. Have a read through your manual and then ask your instructor to fill in the gaps that the manual can’t fill.

    First Reg

I have no issues with running a transmitter on my legends. Still leaves room for all my other hoses including drysuit hose

What sacrifices have you made for diving?

I may have sacrificed studying for university exams to go diving.

Got Air? Who Sips the Least?

Mine would be 13L (0.45 cuft) but I still do all my planning based off 20L so that it matches with my buddy who is a little thirstier than me.

    First Reg

I have the legend lx and absolutely love it. Coldest I’ve had it was 37f and no issues what so ever. It’s probably had a lot tougher life than most would give it but still breathes just as well as the day I bought it.

Not a selfie but just chilling on the surface

Have you ever had to dump your weights?

Never encountered having to drop weights but it’s one of those “what if” skills. You’ll probably never need it but it’s worth knowing just like sharing air. I’m sure in the vast world of scubaboard somebody will have had to drop weights. Knowing how to remove weights on the surface is a skill...

Do any Tec-Rec (or light deco) divers use GTR?

I don’t rely on it but I do use it to confirm that I’m what my spg is telling me correlates to my dive plan. Nice to have but too many variables to rely on it as the only measure.

    snorkel differences..real or imagined?

I started out using those fancy purge valve snorkels but pretty quickly changed to a basic snorkel. No purge valve no dry top. Much more streamlined feel in the water. With proper technique you should be able to clear it pretty easily after each dive as you surface.

10 yr old dies in scuba diving accident - Utah

I understand that but I was referring to the typical instances of a parent being a certified diver and taking a kid just to give them a go. Sure some parents would be instructors or otherwise have the knowledge to do so safely. Even in shallow water the risks are too high (IMHO) to take the...

10 yr old dies in scuba diving accident - Utah

Very sad indeed. Shows the importance of being trained properly and not just getting dad to show you.

Shearwater Teric vs Garmin Descent Mk1

I believe it is buhlman and supports trimix. I’ve been thinking about getting one to replace my current dive computer and multisport watch.

Regulator in carry on baggage, anyone had any issues at security?

Happened at Sydney airport in Australia. Only took a couple of minutes but still a pain. It doesn’t happen every single time but it does happen occasionally.
