I was using a 2 piece moray 7mm wetsuit and my buddy was using a seac 7mm. It was enough to make it possible to do the dive but ideally we would have been in Drysuits at this time of year.

It's always fun up at the lake seeing new things and just exploring in general.
I think it would be best to ask your instructor to give you a hand. After all you’re paying him to teach you. Have a read through your manual and then ask your instructor to fill in the gaps that the manual can’t fill.
I have the legend lx and absolutely love it. Coldest I’ve had it was 37f and no issues what so ever. It’s probably had a lot tougher life than most would give it but still breathes just as well as the day I bought it.
Never encountered having to drop weights but it’s one of those “what if” skills. You’ll probably never need it but it’s worth knowing just like sharing air. I’m sure in the vast world of scubaboard somebody will have had to drop weights.
Knowing how to remove weights on the surface is a skill...
I don’t rely on it but I do use it to confirm that I’m what my spg is telling me correlates to my dive plan. Nice to have but too many variables to rely on it as the only measure.
I started out using those fancy purge valve snorkels but pretty quickly changed to a basic snorkel. No purge valve no dry top. Much more streamlined feel in the water. With proper technique you should be able to clear it pretty easily after each dive as you surface.
I understand that but I was referring to the typical instances of a parent being a certified diver and taking a kid just to give them a go. Sure some parents would be instructors or otherwise have the knowledge to do so safely. Even in shallow water the risks are too high (IMHO) to take the...
Happened at Sydney airport in Australia. Only took a couple of minutes but still a pain. It doesn’t happen every single time but it does happen occasionally.
