Trip Report My Puerto Aventuras diary

@uncfnp I am really glad you got in a Razor and worked through the setup with Natalie. I would certainly recommend more cenotes when you are feeling better. Fatima loves SM but she is not real hot on dark enclosed spaces. So we struggle with that a little she would be fine in Angelina and...

    Are Suunto Zoops super conservative?

Here is a link @stuartv provided in an earlier post. I think the excel file demonstrates the difference well. http://www.scubadiving.com/sites/scubadiving.com/files/attachments/2016/09/2016_chamber_worksheets.xlsx

    Are Suunto Zoops super conservative?

@Snoweman I assume you had the Perdix in Rec mode which GF profile did you use? • Low (45/95) • Med (40/85) • High (35/75) And this was on the first dive?

    Ceiling/Deco obligation in recreational diving

Exactly. Here is a brief dive description that shows how stupid I can be. Diving at CCV on the drop off Newton's Wall. Wife/buddy and I drop off I told her I wanted to go to 100 foot as I had not bounced to 100 foot in a while. She said nope and stayed above at 50 foot. I drop to 100' and...

    Ceiling/Deco obligation in recreational diving

A 3 minute SS at 15 feet are always a good idea. @Lorenzoid Having recently exceeded the ascent rate (about 63ft/min) on a 100 foot dive I can confirm a mandatory stop was accessed on my Viper/Air. It was only a 1 minute stop @ 20 feet no problem, and it does not affect the recommended 3...

    DumpsterDiver emergency ascent from 180'

I would have to agree with Zairishuman. The main diaphragm failed. Why is the question.. I have a Hog D3 that is only for warm water usage and doesn't have the sealed protection. Yes, I wished I had made a different purchase but there are even kits to add that external diaphragm to the D3.

    Recommendation for liveaboard in thailand

Here is what I find interesting copied from the dive boat information. By the way it looks like a really luxurious ship. Quote rental: Suunto Dive Computer: 300 Baht per day. http://www.westcoastdivers.com/mv-sawasdee-fasai/#mv-sawasdee-fasai-schedule

    Recommendation for liveaboard in thailand

Subsurface says it supports the Petrel & Petrel 2. It is the low power BT that does not import from the Perdix. I think the work-around is get the Perdix downloaded to the Shearwater Site then export the log to Subsurface. "Do not quote me on this one I do not have a Perdix." In fact my wife...

    Recommendation for liveaboard in thailand

Well to answer your other question the Perdix communication problem with Subsurface is not resolved yet. By the way you can rent a dive computer on that vessel (Sawasdee FaSai) for about 35.00 for all four days.
