    Tech Diving Limited Customer Service

As was suggested here, I reached out to Joel directly via FB. He responded within minutes! He assured me he is now working directly to fix the issue and I should have an Email from him directly Monday with answers. I was reluctant to bother him on a weekend, but am very impressed with his very...

    Cootwo: fix or trash?

I have a Dive Nav Cootwo CO\O2 analyzer. It needs an O2 sensor, and now a battery. I believe I've found both. But should I just let this thing die and get a unit from a company that's still in business or try to keep this going? I'm getting to the point where analyzing my gas is becoming more...

    Beginner Sidemount trim issues.

Hi all, Just starting my journey into sidemount. Currently doing pool sessions prior to Quarry work later this month. I'm 6'1" 190 lbs and My current set up that I'm using for the pool is: 5 Mil one piece wetsuit, no hood, no gloves, 3 mil boots, DiveRite XT fins, Nomad XT with Tec Plate...

Efficacy of Stretching new Neck Seal?

Probably a dumb question, but here goes: I just purchased a barely used Diving Concepts Dry Suit that fits me perfectly. However it needs a new neck seal. I'm sure the new seal will have to be trimmed for size as I've had to trim every neck seal I've ever replaced. Is stretching the seal over...

    Cost of pony setup?

I dive with a back mounted AL30 on a BP/W and use a 5 lb offset in my weights but my mount is a pound all by itself.

Open or closed valve on pony bottle?

I have played out the few scenarios I could think of. I mostly boat dive and i do worry about coming down hard on the gunnel. I regularly dive in 2 to 5 foot waves on the Great Lakes. I'm not opposed to going back to inverted, I haven't even considered the set up though. Do you then bungee the...

Open or closed valve on pony bottle?

That's definitely on my list of progression. Going off topic, do you use the same set of doubles on every dive? Or if diving in recreational limits do you then use a smaller set of tanks for convenience? Keeping the reg set-up the same?

Open or closed valve on pony bottle?

Well, as to the mounting position, my instructor was concerned about the valve and or gauge being damaged by impact either on the boat or on an obstruction and had me remount it for my class. I had originally thought that with it inverted I could then reach the valve in the event of a freeflow...

Open or closed valve on pony bottle?

Been diving a back mounted Pony for a couple years now and love it. I leave it on and turn up the crack pressure on the second stage just before I hit the water. I originally had the tank inverted so as to reach the valve easily but my Intro to Tech Instructor pointed out the vulnerability of...

    Redundancy Required for Decompression Diving?

For what it's worth, I just recently took TDI's Intro to Tech (Which many on here will say isn't really a class) But even before the class I was feeling that some redundancy would be nice even though I haven't yet ventured beyond 130 ffw here in the Great Lakes. But even recreationally, I now...

    Need A Little Advice

Ditto what everyone else has already said. Get out and dive, as you get used to your gear and learn more you may start to form ideas of what you'd like to be different. Until then have fun and dive safe!

    Post Your Latest Gear Failure!

Last summer a couple weeks before our usual trip to Thunder Bay Michigan my Cobra II died on a test dive at a local lake. It would work fine at room temps, but if it got over 80*f on the surface it started self diving. Tried it again attempting to keep it cool prior to entry and used a...

    Equipment Trends: The BCD

Though, I wasn't officially certified until 05 I started diving much earlier using my father's old gear which he taught me yo use. And it included J valves, and no spg . I thought they worked just fine and didn't really know any better at the time. I do remember having a simple horseshoe BC though.

    Equipment Trends: The BCD

But then how do you figure that for a drysuit where the amount of air in the suit is quite variable?
