Where to get certified in the Keys?

I am a certified diver in Pittsburgh and have a friend who wants to join in the fun. He is one of those people with a hectic schedule so he would like to do the class work, confined water and open water check outs in one fell swoop. He's a pilot and has already studied the PADI materials so...

I'm going a similar route with an a80. Found a strobe setup based on other posts here that really seems to work well. Bought a Sea&Sea YS-60 TTL/s on eBay - new in box $250. Added one of the controllers that these guys make: http://www.heinrichsweikamp.net/blitz/indexe.htm and I have a...

    Underwater Video Camera

I recall seeing a thread a few months back about using a video camera which could be lowered from a boat. I just saw this in the Harbor Freight web site if anyone is interested. I am not affiliated with Harbor, I just get their emails. Most of their stuff is low end, made in China, but I have...

help with design for "flat" backplate

I have one of the old style Pioneer wings, too. It seems that there is enough room to cut slots in it for the cam bands. If so you won't need the STA and won't have to worry about how to attach it..

Second Career the Industry – Ideas?

I work for one of those large industrial companies that is struggling to stay viable and I may get a shot at one of those early retirement deals.. If one comes up, I have the idea that it would give me an opportunity to start a second career in the scuba industry. So I'm hoping that some of...

    key largo dive shop

I have been impressed with Divers City in Tavernier - not far from Key Largo. They put 10 divers on a boat that could haul 16. They also put a "safety diver" in the water. They seem to attract a crowd that wants some of the deeper stuff, the wrecks Bibb, Duane, Grove etc.. These are all...
