    Fins for Small Feet?

hi ! My sister had the same problem when she started scuba diving. European shoe size 33. It was no picking to find a fitting pair of fins not designing for children. The only model we could find was the open heel Cressi Frog plus. The chart size is here.

    Help ID Old Cressi Computer

I totally agree. Dual gas (air or nitrox) + Depth gauge mode. Not bad at all, easy to use. Cheap battery, easy to change. If the depth sensor is still operational, it's not a bad diving computer. You should be able to find a pdf of the user manual.

Question Looking for a good software to download my dives and list my gear

Hi folks, First, I'm not sure I'm posting in the right section, sorry. Please, move my post the correct place if needed. Ok, here's my predicament : Owned a Mac for years, used MacDive to download data from my dive computer. It was very easy and convenient. Could also list all the gear I used...

    The Deep

Yeah, a classic. Not my favourite film, but still a good one, I'll happy to watch again. Fueled my lust to dive.

First dives in France (Mediterranean sea)

Only too true... Concerning diving : you had bad luck indeed.I've been diving the area from Menton to Nice (Tombant des Américains) for the last 30 years (summer time) and like it a a lot. Try Villefranche sur Mer (former Chango diving location), or le Cap Martin, Antibes-Juan les Pins, in...

    another lurker....

Hi Curt, Unless I'm very much mistaken, it's Haldane, wearing a Rouquayrol-Denayrouze "scuba" (feels weird to use scuba for an appliance invented years before the acronym). I've never seen that picture, where did you get it, if I may ask ? Welcome btw.

    Scubapro Mk2+ M26 DIN conversion

You can limit that to France... Never seen any M26 on German, Spanish, or Italian divers kits, although it's not unknown in these countries. M26 was designed by Aqualung who petitioned to make it compulsory. If you want my honest opinion about it : M26 is a useless piece of junk. Still, I'm...

    Scubapro Mk2+ M26 DIN conversion

True, that's the main problem, but still it's sturdy enough.

    Scubapro Mk2+ M26 DIN conversion

Other solution, using an adapter like that one. You don't have to modify your 1st stage that way. Quicker (and maybe cheaper ?).

Info MIT Tech Review Article: Deep Diving on Hydrogen

Yeah, read that myself, but 7% was the limit stated in articles I read some years ago about Comex experimental dives with hydreliox : Hydra VIII (530 m in the Med, not in a chamber). They were so prudent when mixing the gaz, that the room where the technicians made the mix was saturated with N2...

Info MIT Tech Review Article: Deep Diving on Hydrogen

@drrich2 : this will give you an idea of the problem : hydrogen + 5%O2 = big kaboom ! So it's easier to mix anything with helium, which neutral. Hydrogen is interesting only for very deep (and so very hypoxic dives) to prevent narcosis and high pressure nervous syndrome (sorry but you'll have...

Do you wear a dive watch? (not computer)

Dive watches are obsolete, true. But they're sturdy, reliable, and cool... For kids like me, born in the 70's, dive watches meant cool, adventure, etc... Got my 1st one late in my life, around 35 I'd say : Yema SeaSpyder (Seiko inside), and then a bunch of Seikos and a Vostok. Dived them all...

    Greetings from Austria

I know the problem, but Austria is supposed to have many lakes. Not interesting to dive there, or do you find them just too cold ?

How Many Dives in a year will make you happy?

50 is my average, but 100'd be nice. Alas, for that, more free time, more money, and more fine weather are required. So for me, just better weather would be my choice : over the last 3 years, I've been compelled to cancel about 10 to 15 dives a year. A frustrating business...
