    Cozumel Customs?

They can, and do, do body searches whenever they feel like it. The more it looks as if you're intentionally smuggling, the harder they're going to come down on you when you're caught.

    Cozumel Customs?

This was to track when people on a temporary entrance permit left the country. Resident foreigners had to complete the form before leaving Mexico. The departure portion was kept and they had to keep track of the larger entry portion until they returned to Mexico. Because they were legal...

    No Need for the FMM?

The airport from which you're departing Mexico doesn't matter, since if you don't have the departure form portion of a paper FMM issued at arrival you won't be able to give it to them when you leave. My belief is that currently all airports and marine ports through which you enter Mexico use the...

    Restaurant Finds?

Both good choices. One does eventually crave a good burger after being on the island long enough, and Smash Box Burger is my current favorite. Good fries, as well.

    Passport warnings, several...

I can't imagine what it could hurt to keep a picture of your passport on your phone (but not only in the cloud, because you may not have reception where you need it). We have never been asked for passports except for border control or when we know ahead of time they'll be needed (getting...

    Mega vs Chedraui

I'm more of a Bohemia Oscura guy so haven't paid much attention to Negra Leon, but the last time I looked (a few months ago, probably) it was around. But the unexplained, often temporary, disappearance of something like that seems to be pretty common. Frustrating, though.

That is literally what it is. Like TSA Pre-check or Global Entry.

NEXUS is for accessing fast lanes at land border crossings or kiosks for e-gates at the airport. You still need to have a passport. "Remember to always travel with your passport and/or proof of permanent residence in case you are required to prove your citizenship or permanent residence status."

    Mega vs Chedraui

Bodega Aurerra. It's owned by Walmart. Miel de Agave is usually easy to find all over the island at large grocery stores. Good mattress pads should be findable at Sam's Club. In terms of whether a given store "has" something, that's not necessarily an answerable question. Individual stores, or...

I reckon restaurant names and locations are moving targets on the island.

    Restaurant Finds?

On seeing this I realized that this is one of the places we've visited the most. Their food is excellent, and I crave their quibis bola (or their new kibbet lakteen, vegetarian kibis stuffed with pumpkin). They really care a lot about their food and it shows. There's hardly anywhere I'd order...

    Restaurant Finds?

It's "Cielito Lindo". Great place to get chamorro every day or chiles en nogada year-round.

    FMM card and Visitax

This is why I travel with a little aluminum clipboard in my carry-on. The most recent time I went through customs in Cozumel, I had a printed customs form I'd filled out online. The agent took it, didn't look at it, and directed me to inspection (without pressing the button). Of course this was...

advice wanted re. purchasing property in Cozumel

Very much this. We've owned our house for 12 years and I wouldn't have it any other way, but I can't make any convincing arguments that it makes good economic sense - #9 is spot-on. For a while now it's been paying its own way through rentals but I really hate having renters in what I now think...

advice wanted re. purchasing property in Cozumel

It took me far less than a total of 6 months to get permanent residency, and I was out of the country for all but a few weeks of that time.

    Sudafed in Cozumel with prescription?

PubMed is really just a database of citations of research papers. It's not really the place to look for mortality statistics.
