Female first time travelling solo, first dive trip. I think Cozumel is the way to go?

i would think they'd have options? most shops I've dove with have had multiple suits. if you wanted to be extra sure, you could always rent a suit here from a local shop so you know it's a good fit and then go south. In London there is a shop on Wharncliffe about 100 yards north of...

Female first time travelling solo, first dive trip. I think Cozumel is the way to go?

i dove a 3mm shorty and felt good but I'm not a small guy and don't get cold. Ton's of jelly fish on a few of the dives at the surface. Luckily i didn't get stung but i would have felt more comfortable in a full suit just for the skin protection.

Where's the aldora love? If you're staying at suites bahia, aldora is 30 seconds away and they leave from the downtown pier across the street :D I was very, very satisfied and thank the board for the recommendation!

    jellies?

how do you surface through them without getting stung? a hood would make me feel better; at least then i really only need to worry about my hands. between the mask and my beard my face should be reasonably safe?

    jellies?

having read some threads talking about them lately, does anyone have tips for diving if they're bad? do most ops find a place to put you in without them? I've been stung a few times and definitely not interested in trying to get through a bunch of them to get down. maybe a hood would be a good idea?

New Years Solo Trip, some suggestions and a few questions?

thanks everyone for the tips! I ended up booking with Aldora. Their proximity is the best for where I'm staying and they come so highly recommended off the board that it was the best bet for me on this trip. I'm looking forward to spending my longest trip diving of my still young dive career...

Yea, the exchange is awful (got even worse today.. :S) i work for a bank so can get a slightly better exchange but was thinking I'd probably bring straight pesos this trip instead of US. good tip on the big tank, I've always been a bit of an air hog and have used bigger tanks before with better...

New Years Solo Trip, some suggestions and a few questions?

Hello all! Long time no post, but this time I've decided to S&%T or get off the pot. Unfortunately some life changes have occurred and I've decided to give myself my 30th birthday present a little early in the form of a dive trip. On the plus side, maybe my next partner can be my life-long dive...

    Puerto Vallarta Trip Report

Unfortunately my GoPro died before the dive started so I didn't get any photos or video. With that said, the vis was pretty rough at around 20-30 feet. Full disclosure; I've done all of my diving in the Caribbean so I'm spoiled by those conditions. The water was also quite cold; 60-65 degrees...

Cenotes - how 'enclosed' are you?

I didn't get any of the penetration at dos Ojos. Too dark lol. And cold. The bat cave was cool, but I can't help but wonder how much guano was in there lol.

Cenotes - how 'enclosed' are you?

I've only dove Dos Ojos but I agree, I wouldn't have done it had I known how enclosed it was. It was neat, but way too long in an enclosed space and pitch black for my liking.

need help with a honeymoon destination

That's awesome info. Thanks!! Yea. It was chillies but I've changed my mind. They had great service and information but they sometimes go ten divers to one dm and I don't like that. West Bay divers seems like what I'm after.having dug a bit deeper I think we may stay in west bay instead of West...
