New Piranaha PVC Low Pressure Regulator Hose, thoughts ?

+1 Will not take the risk just for something that looks cool and will leave a few thousand guinea pigs test them for a few years before considering it.

    Removing Smoke Smell from Reg

Try to soak it in a solution of water with Steramine. Steramine (150 tablets) - Subgravity I think it can help as this is a sanitizer.

Seeking advice regarding high end regs also for tec

To the OP: as I leave in SEA, I should inform you that the availability of parts for regulator brand is very limited compared to US out EU. Only a handful of brand are easily available across the region: Aqualung, Scubapro, Mares and Apeks. Others such as Atomic, Poseidon, Dive Rite and Hog are...

    Atomic Z3 sealed or not

Hehehe... My spouse is using a pair of Atomic regs: B2 sealed and Z2 unsealed. She made the Z2 sealed 2 years ago. Very good regs but difficult to maintain on field when they are sealed due to the crystolube.

    Atomic Z3 sealed or not

It is easy to check: if the black rubber band half way of the reg is plain, it is sealed. If it has a few holes, it is unsealed.

SP G260 or S600 for tech diving

I already tried the S600 (with MK17) and found it breathing very smoothly and I know it is a good reg. But for the G260, I have no info. I really don't know how it can compare to the S600 in term of breathing, maintenance, reliability, etc... I only found it to be about the same price tag. If...

SP MK17 with AA B2 second. Any concern?

Recommended IP for B2 is 140 psi. So not an issue to set this on MK17. Both distributor for my location are next to my place (5-10 km radius) so no issue either here.

SP MK17 with AA B2 second. Any concern?

Hi All, I think I know already the answer, but just in case, I ask the question: Tech diving with SP MK17 and AA B2 second. Do you see any issue? As MK17 is not overbalanced, I don't see anything any problem but what do you think? Thanks :)

    Reg choices

One of the largest Atomic dealer in Asia is in HK: www.dblueasia.com So you should not have issue to have a Z2 serviced there. Hollis DC1/212 is a good product and the Aqualung Titan is a really proven design existing for 10s of years. But - imho - Atomic (any model) is in an other level...

    Regulator tune up

To Tbone1004: Correct, I didn't write properly. I own Atomic products. My bad for doing that mistake. Edited my post. To dmoore19: I checked again the owner manual of Apeks and Aqualung: still 1 year. By the way ,Aqualung still has some regs with "Part Free" program for the servicing.

    Regulator tune up

Aqualung/Apeks, Scubapro require your reg to be services every year by a certified tech and not being able to meet this requirement can void your warranty. Atomic, HOG on the other hand requiroe 2 years service interval (3 years for the Atomic Ti3) and - at least for Atomic - warranty isn't...

    Regulator tune up

First: What brand are you using? Most brand say service interval must be every year while some others have a 2 year Policy. Then, usually, the first service is a check of the reg and parts/o-ring condition and if all good, nothing is replaced. If an issue, the part/o-ring is replaced. Ensure...

Hi Tbone1004, Good point regarding WOB, but I used well tuned Apeks XTX50, very smooth, etc... I also used Tek3 kit, ATX 200, etc... still very good product but Atomic is a bit smoother and less noizy when breathing. Only think that compared with the Atomic breathing perfomance was a Scubapro...
