I've been shooting a 60d top-side and a s100 under. I've had my eye on the 5d mark iii for both purposes and am getting ready to take the plunge.
I opted against housing the 60d because I knew one day I'd add a mkiii to the quiver (will keep the 60d as a second body) and simply wanted to wait...
I'll give scuba club a call. I'm driving down from Sebring in the AM so it doesn't really matter where I dive out of. Staying in Boca Friday/Saturday and diving with Pompano Saturday. There's a number of outfits running afternoon trips they just don't have anyone else signed up.
I'm working...
I have two days in the Boca Raton area to dive. I'm set up for Saturday 2/22. I don't get into the area until mid-morning (tomorrow) 2/21. I've tried Loggerhead and Pompano and they have nobody signed up for afternoon dives. Looking for suggestions/leads/help....
is it that hard to get in the...
I'm headed to Tampa on a work related trip for a bit over a week. I have two days (Feb. 15th, 16th) before work and plan to dive. I understand Tampa is a bit limited compared to the east coast (which I'll head to after work responsibilities) but still want to get in the water. I live in...
Aldora.
The instruction they often gave is "dive your computer".
they use steel 120's and nitrox (use it).
some dives i had to finish riding a little high to keep from deco. others I finished at 300 and totally safe.
if my statement is confusing you don't let it. I started this thread because I clearly didn't/don't know wtf I was/am doing.
Though shutter speed will impact flash performance at a certain point, right? 1/2000th of a second is too short for the flash to matter (just an example). Which begs...
I think I get what you are saying. The flash doesn't really care where the aperture is set since it doesn't change background/ambient exposure. So set up iso and frame rate and adjust aperture to fill out the background?
I started shooting film 25 years ago and it was all outdoors (and above...
We have essentially the same set up. YS-01 is a bit more powerful otherwise it's the same. And yeah... the reason it looks like the flash didn't fire is because i had the strobe set incorrectly.
125 sec, f4.5, iso 250.
I went with Av setting (great tip to start out as C is just too much to...
I think you are right regarding the flash (or close enough to it that the adjustments I'm making will help a lot).
First dive today was devils throat so I brought the camera w/o the flash and just shot a little video. Second dive it turns out my strobe was for some reason dead. The batteries...
Thanks for the tips! Very helpful! I'll post more later today with some shots from today.
That makes sense about the sharks. Not sure I wanted them any closer.
juvenile french angelfish: 1/80th, f/4.5, iso800. I was about two feet away.
horrible problems to have...
It looks like what i've basically done is set my camera to auto mode in custom (so that I could make sure some pre-sets were on when i turned the camera on [like underwater WB])
Thanks for the tips. I think they will help. I know camera and have been shooting for...
After five days of diving and shooting in Cozumel I'm still struggling to figure out how to get my lighting right with my set up.
It's the typical overwhelming blue/cyan and loss of reds/orange.
I'm setting the s-100 to underwater light balance, iso800 with flash on (to relay via the fiber...
