Sounds amazing, despite the weather. Thanks for sharing!

    Fiji Airways carry-on warning

That's disappointing. We flew via LAX, so I guess the staff at SFO are much more stringent.

    Fiji Airways carry-on warning

We traveled in mid-June of this year, and no issues with carry-on baggage.

Question Kauai diving in Late November

Koloa/Po'ipu area is best for access to dive sites in my experience. You can shore dive from Koloa Landing and there are several dive operators to choose from. We like Fathom Five, but I've heard good things about Bubbles Below as well. I'm sure @AquamanKauai and @KauaiScuba will chime in...

What is your "must do" post-diving activity on the Big Island?

Ka'u Coffee Mill in Pahala is a great alternative. Fantastic coffee and they give tours throughout the day. Best bet is to stop en route back to the Kona side after visiting HVNP. https://kaucoffeemill.com/

Trip Report Hawaii - Kona/Big Island May 2023 trip report/dive shop comparison

+1 for Kohala Divers. We dive with them every time we go to the Big Island. Fantastic outfit and a really nice dive boat (Newton 42).

What is your "must do" post-diving activity on the Big Island?

And then eat at Kohala Burger & Taco (KBT) after diving. Amazing burgers.

What's special about diving in Hawaii?

The original owners of ProDiver (the ones who purchased ERDA's boat) sold the business to another owner. We tried to book with them last year (not knowing the owner was different), and were never able to get a response - no one picked up the phone, website didn't work etc. Island Style Diving...

    Fiji Airways carry-on warning

Nothing as far as I can tell.

    Fiji Airways carry-on warning

We just returned from a 2 week dive trip to Fiji. Fiji Airways did not weigh our carry-on baggage from LAX or departing NAN back to the US. Only our checked baggage was weighed. Regarding checked bag size, we both used Away Medium Flex baggage, which are well within the required dimensions...

Gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. It's nice to know there are still some healthy reefs in the Caribbean.

Turks and Caicos Liveaboard or resort?

+1 for AquaTCI. Fantastic operators. They recently purchased Provo Turtle Divers' dive boat (a Newton 36), so now they have multiple boats while keeping to small groups.

Travel thoughts for those coming to Hawaii

Great advice. We are going to Maui in October and have already booked our dives and restaurants. In a couple of cases, we grabbed the last two spots on the boat.

Dive shop with Valet Diving Turks snd Caicos

+1 on Aqua TCI. My wife and I dived with them in November of last year (2020) and were very pleased. Will definitely dive with them again when we are on the island. I recommend Omar's and Mango Reef for lunch post-dive. Both are excellent. We stayed at Point Grace (also highly recommended).

+1 on French Cay. Amazing site.

    July Trip to Maui

Wow, that is super disappointing. We have been diving with ERDA for years. We dove with the ERDA crew last November on the ProDiver III. I'm sad that will have been the last time.

Is there good drift diving on the Hawaiian islands?

Niʻihau has amazing drift diving. Back wall and Reefʻs End of Molokini (Maui) are pretty good drift dives as well.

    July Trip to Maui

We cancelled our June trip to Maui and are looking to reschedule for sometime in late autumn. I'm going to wait another month or so before we decide how to proceed. As it stands, all visitors to Hawaiʻi are required to quarantine for 14 days. Until that policy changes, it is hard to predict...
