can anyone recommend a shop that teaches PADI advanced? i have my PADI open water with VA Scuba, but they no longer offer PADI courses. my goal in getting the advanced cert is so that I can get the SDI solo cert afterward.

anyone planning to be at lake phoenix for their cleanup days? free entry, tanks, and lunch provided, in exchange you help cleanup some of the underwater attractions. i was hoping to be there wed-fri, but my dive buddy michael can't get the days off.

in case anyone is curious and for posterity, the water temp at lake phoenix this time of year (january 31) is 47F top to bottom, with an occasional cold spot around 46F.

if a 120 cubic foot tank is 1.5 times larger than an 80 cubic foot tank, does that mean it's 1.5^3 or 3.375 times the volume (assuming they're both filled at their rated psi)?

Can someone explain the difference between the DSS Torus and LCD wing? From what I can tell, the LCD has a zipper to access the bladder while the Torus does not, and the LCD wing can be removed from the backplate easier than the Torus. are there any other performance differences? edit: stupid...
