My wife and I have enjoyed both the Aggressor and the Dancer out of Belize City. Both are excellent, staff excellent, dives are amazing..... It's the only way to dive!!!!!!!!!
How many days could you spend in Belize? And do you have budget restrictions?
There is great diving all around Turneffe which is surrounded by its own beautiful atoll reef system but it is pricey. The dive sites are close and require minimum commuting.
The reef is a much longer ride out from...
The food is GREAT, the people are GREAT, in fact a recent Harvard study declared that Lafayette is the happiest city in the United States, and perhaps the world. But the diving........ not so much.
Just arrived home from a great experience on the Sun Dancer II. So, my wife and I have been on both the BAIII and SDII.
First and foremost, thanks to both crews.
Customer Service and attitudes:
Great customer service. In my family I was taught manners, to be courteous, etc. so, I just...
I travel to Belize four to five times a year now. I always schedule two to three days to get in some dives. And I always go with Sea Sports Belize because most of my work is on the mainland. John and Linda and their team are GREAT, honest and reliable.
As far as the cruise lines, they do...
So I have now used my Dive Caddy Gen 2 on several trips all to Belize. Using just the wrap around main portion I have had no problems and it does fit the airline standard. BUT, if you add the turtle pack on top and the external pack on the back it's likely that it will be too large. The...
I agree. Again, I'm committed to protecting the reefs and the ocean, but, I believe that truth and accuracy needs to be used to make that happen. And I don't know enough to tell what parts of the article might be inaccurate or sloppy, but the info in the article seems like the author has...
I read a recent article in Time Magazine about the state of reefs. I am very curious as to your impressions of the article.
I want to protect the reef certainly as a diver, but also as a citizen of the planet. There is a point in which the author talks about Belize. He writes "the reef isn't...
Hey, on a Liveaboard you don't need much more than your diving gear!!!!
Swim suits, shorts, t-shirts, sleeping attire, that's it. My wife and I are usually barefoot once on board or just wear our Chacos. Unless you're going to go somewhere before or after you don't need to bring much at all...
I do understand the concerns some have about cameras and diving. The people who bump into me most while diving............. often seem to have cameras and seem oblivious to others. Not all camera folk though are careless, most are not. It is certainly beautiful below sea level and definitely...
Definitely Belize. Been there many times. If Diving is a BIG priority definitely schedule Belize Aggressor III, or Sun Dancer II. If you want a super casual laid back island experience go to Caye Caulker, which of course has diving services. If you want a little more luxury Ambergris Caye...
I agree with EL's suggestions.
I also use a Go Pole. It gives me the ability to get closer to fish, and also allows me to get in some of the shots too. I would love to get some lights but what I would get costs over 700.00(Sola lights). On a sunny day the light isn't necessary. The deeper...
Anyone can book any yacht. I just don't get how anyone would be able to guess which boat might have older vs. younger divers unless the Aggressor/Dancer Staff in Augusta did analysis of their data base passenger/divers and published it. Last year on Belize Aggressor we had mostly a younger crowd.
I use 12 hour Sudafed. I friend who is a doctor and avid diver said it helped him, and it may help me. He asked if I had taken Sudafed before and asked if I an any symptoms (racing heart etc.). Yes, I've taken Sudafed and no side effects to my knowledge. I take Sudafed each morning before...
SO are there any Wisdom 3 divers who would like to make a video tour of the Wisdom 3 and provide some tutorials of how to use it!???? I get a lot out of my use, but I wouldn't mind learning more, and yes, I have read the manual several times, but it's not what you would call "user friendly."
Most everything posted here has been very helpful to me and I'm glad to see them posted. My consumption has improved because of some good suggestions from more seasoned divers, and the suggestions here I think made the difference. Buoyancy is huge. Relaxing is huge. Slow down, and don't use...
