Default To buy or not to buy tanks?

Just want to reiterate about the size of the Faber LP120's. I bought a used setup as doubles at an amazing price and broke them apart. They are huge! And they weigh about 62lbs each when full! If you're not tall, they are miserable to carry. If you are tall, them they are just not fun to carry...

Locking the housing so it wouldn't leak...

I have the Hero3 Black and haven't had any leaking problems in the 20 dives I've done with it. Just make sure the seal is clean, and make sure the latch clicks locked. It's a pretty good system. I did notice that the Black+ is only rated to 131' vs the standard Hero3 Black rating of 197'.

September 9th. Want to dive North Carolina.

Yeah, was thinking the same thing... Worst case scenario we split the 4th person's cost.

September 9th. Want to dive North Carolina.

I'm having a difficult time finding somewhere to dive on Monday the 9th for my buddy and I. Seems that things are too slow to get enough to get a boat to go out.

September 9th. Want to dive North Carolina.

It's a pretty big coast... Which area are you looking to dive? I dove with Discovery Scuba out of Beaufort, NC 4 days last week and had really good service and some great dives. I have heard good things about Olympus Dive Center in Morehead City, NC as well, which is just down the road from...

How many of you have failed to analyze a tank that you thought had air?

It appears in the photo that there is a DIN plug that screws into the yoke adapter, so you should be good to go for DIN.

    Thermocline vs Lavacore

I'm looking to see if anyone here has ever had experience with both the Forth Element Thermocline wetsuit and the Lavacore wetsuit. I have an allergy to neoprene and am looking for a way to wear 5mm with of thermal protection. Both the suits offer about 2-3 mm worth of protection, and I need...

    Who uses dive gear bag?

Funny you should mention this. I just bought this hard bottomed roller duffel for my five gear. My wife just spent more than 5x this amount on a fancy scuba branded roller. We'll see who's lasts longer. And of course I can buy 4 more new bags if I do have problems with this one.

    Rashes from diving

A LDS is technically a dealer of Thermocline. But he said there was a problem with them a while back and he had to send his whole inventory back and he didn't have anything good to say about them, and wasn't ordering any more. But he had one left that was not my size for me to look at and it is...

    Rashes from diving

Dor, I have that reaction too with wetsuits. I've had to get steroid shots and steroid packs after breaking out so bad with rashes and hives. Yesterday I bought a drysuit to eliminate the problem after so much frustration with trying to find a wetsuit I could(n't) wear. Zig, have you...

    1000 Lumen Dive Light - SORRY :)

So I took my new DRIS 1000 diving last week. Went down to 25' or so on dive in the spring and during intermission I noticed there was water in the head. So unscrewed it at the neck and emptied it. Dive 2 went to 75' and it filled up even more, but still worked. Unscrewed it and emptied as...

    1000 Lumen Dive Light - SORRY :)

If you actually bought the 500 lumen light then the discount should probably work. I just bought one and Debbie said she could find a previous order for the 500 so light would be regular price of $90. Still looking forward to the light at that price.

    1000 Lumen Dive Light - SORRY :)

I'm curious as well...although to be honest, the sale price of $90 right now is still a good price.
