HELP! Mares Puck Air no "Safe Stop" when at or below 50 bar

Yes, puck air is a fully integrated computer. That's how it knows that you have under 50 bar. It will only handle 1 tank and nitrox <50% O2.

HELP! Mares Puck Air no "Safe Stop" when at or below 50 bar

Maybe go to leisurepro.com and have a look. There are several out there. I would not opt for wireless if that were my only SPG though. I've seen too many people with issues. If I had it to do over again I might get just a plain SPG and a wireless monitor for my D4i. The D4i is my favorite...

HELP! Mares Puck Air no "Safe Stop" when at or below 50 bar

Glad to see this thread still alive...havent looked at it in several years! I have a few hundred dives on the computer. Overall it is decent. The safety stop issue is ridiculous. But as one person put it, it helps defer liability to the diver. Too bad they couldnt have just put in a flashing...

    Help Choosing My First Computer?????

This computer does not start a 3 minute countdown if the air is at or below 50 bar. Other computers give you a 3 minute countdown. So one would need an alternate timing device, or, alternatively, use the dive timer on the screen already. There is no stopwatch feature with this computer. And if...

    Help Choosing My First Computer?????

here is my only complaint with the puck air w/compass. Where is safetystop 613 - YouTube argue what you want, i'm not worried about hitting the 50 bar mark during ss and running out of air.

how to properly log a dive?

You might consider using a program like macdive or similar that integrates with your Puck - and also with iOS. I have found it useful to make notes on my ipad/iphone during a trip and then copy/paste them into Macdive once I'm back home and sync'd up. But if you're one to like to get the stamp...

Looking into spare air or other emergency air supply

I bought spare air for myself, wife, son in January and have carried them on all dives ever since. We usually practice with it at the end of a trip in fact. Really like the system. It gives a good sense of confidence to have a completely redundant gas supply system. I do recommend checking...

    Upgrading PADI Junior Certification Cards

My son's nitrox card says junior because he got it when he was 14. His Aow card says junior as well and says must be accompanied by adult. While he will undoubtedly do rescue which solves that junior card issue, the nitrox card will be priceless when he takes his grand kids diving down the...

Which place to choose for Beginners in Indonesia or the Philippines ?

Tons of options. Mainly depends on budget. If you are willing to stay in a 5-star there are many that have diving as well as lots of other activities that will give you a first class trip. If you want so spend less, so be it. There are plenty of shops that can provide what you need. Use online...

PADI DM requirement and PADI standards

Not sure what your travel/time restrictions are, but around here you can do the DM for a fairly low price. I dove with these guys last year 5 times - went thru rescue with them - and they have an entire DM program. None of that is necessary. What you can be assured of is that you'll get top...

Dive Boats: What Are 'Yours' Like?

Every place I dive seems to have its own variants of dive boats. This particular site from the pics above was called Menjangan in NW Bali, Indonesia. Outstanding diving. All of the boats looked just like it (that would be the guide resting), and they moved rather slow (notice the outboard)...

Do be careful when you're diving in Belize. There was a post a while back called Bent in Belize, or something like that. Don't let that be you.

    Mactan recommendations

Just following up. The diving at Mactan island was world class. Some of the best diving we have done. And we have hit some great spots living in SE Asia. The cave was a cool place to dive and a great way to mix things up. The airplane wreck made for a great family photo at 20m! Only...

    Mactan recommendations

Hello, I'm planning to dive in Mactan the last week of March and am looking for recommendations on operators and must-see sites. Please share what you think are - your favorites - operators/places to avoid - at least based on your own experience I'm staying on the island already, just...

Best place to stay for likelihood of Sipadan permits?

I was there last weekend and am going back in a few months. Diving was really good but vis wasn't - maybe 7-10m tops. It clears back up at the end of March I'm told. We got six dives in at Sipadan (2 days). The permit issue is an interesting one and I can see why they have this system. The...

    Settings suggestions, G15 + Inon D2000

Hi all. I recently purchased a Inon D2000 strobe & accessories for my G15 w/DC48 housing and am curious as to recommendations on settings. I've perused the boards and seen various thoughts on G11/G12 w/S2000, but I'm curious as to what any of you who have the same combination as me - or...
