I believe the Bull shark dive you mention is down the coast at Santa Lucia . Having dove all thru Cuba the dives at Lucia are the second best the island offers. First choice by a mile would be Maria La Gorda on the western most tip.

Pounds it Is .. I can forget about the 2.2 thing. The Last weights I used at Maria La Gorda Cuba were home made , un-marked and In kilos. Much easier to balance out my rig with 16 lbs rather than 7 kilos .

Thanks for the tip about the bow to stern rope , makes sense to me. So does an afternoon shore dive on the day arrival to tune the weight and equipment . And whether its toes or fingers we have all been bitten by the evil boat ladder , some are just meaner than others. Good heads up ...Thanks...

My thinking on a DM for the first dive was not so much about the actual drift dive . At my age descending getting buoyant and flying with the drift without having to do alot of finning is an older divers dream. My 2 concerns with drift diving is not having a line to hold in case of comming up...

Are their dive ops in Coz that have fast boats with a shade canopy . Or suggest a dive op that uses the larger boats with shade that are somewhat fast. Thanks

Sorry that you did not get the full value of what was probably an expensive vacation.(sandals) Veradero is not a diving area but more a location for sun , sand and rum. Food in general in cuba is only fair to middle. Cayo coco, cayo largo, guardalavaca, all offer decent diving with reefs and...

i have been to cuba many times, by far the best diving is maria la gorda. as for all inclusives i would say holguin or santa lucia would be good choices for divers and non divers.
