Cozumel - For the Last Time?

Well, the dive boat I was on in Pensacola last week used Biodiesel. Biodiesel refers to a non-petroleum-based diesel fuel consisting of short chain alkyl (methyl or ethyl) esters, made by transesterification of vegetable oil. They used a B100 grade which is basically made from pure veg oil and...

    Texas Clipper Reefing Date

American Diving is a class act. Went diving with them during South Padre's 1st Annual Scuba Week last month. We had hoped to dive the Clipper then, but alas we will have to wait until next year. We did get to dive with a whale shark and a school of hammerhead. CHUM have a blast. :D

    South Padre Island

Low 80's. I dove in a 1mm full and was completely comfortable. Vis was around 20-30feet, which is bad for South Padre, usually vis can be 50+.

    South Padre Island

Hey, just wanted to say thanks to American Diving in South Padre Island. We were there last week and did some rig dives and it was great. Saw a 40+ foot whale shark on Friday and a large school of scalloped hammer-head sharks the second day. The boat was very comfortable too. Great...

advice about blue lagoon in huntsville

I have personally been through all the boats at the Blue Lagoon. I think that as long as you feel comfortably in the water and have a buddy on the outside to render help if needed, then it is ok. You can see the exits at all times and it is fun. There are 4 boats that I know of in Lagoon #1...

DAN Accident and Fatality Reports Online

Not only that but the Rubicon archives go all the way back to DAN's 1988 annual report. The DAN site only goes back to 2001 online. :D

    Should we feed the fish?

I agree, feeding the fish only makes them more aggresive. I have to wear a Lycra hood when I am at twin lakes so my ears don't get nipped by the fish.

    Certification Dive Mishap and analysis

Hey BC...I think you did a great job in not panicking! Couple of questions...how high was the peir? And you mentioned no first aid kit...did the instructor not have a first aid kit at the site? If not...major uh-oh. All things considered...great job.

    Seaspace 2007

These are some good ideas. I really like the idea of moving it out of Reliant Center into a hotel convention center. The other ideas are good too!

Anyone else hooked on Battlestar Galactica?

At least Stargate SG-1 returns on April 13th. The bad news of course is this is the last season. Remember a year or so ago when the Friday lineup was Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and then BSG! Good-times...good-times. :14:

There are 2 dive shops that I know of close to I-10. One is at Dairy Ashford and Kimberely Lane (Scuba Houston) and the other is actually on I-10 and Voss (Dive Tech). Hope that helps.

    Rolling rinse/dry/storage rack

I've done something similar, except I used 1/4 inch metal pipe that I got from Home Depot. It stands about 6 ft high and about 5 ft across. Very sturdy. Only thing it lacks is wheels...so I drag it in and out of the garage. :)
