    Healthy reef on GBR?

Thank you for the comprehensive report! Large share of novice population also means lots of "this is fantastic" reports from them which is of little use for me. I trust the survey then which indicated significant damage in the north and really healthy/unaffected reef only in the very south.

    Healthy reef on GBR?

The Heron resort seems out of budget, but Lady Eliot is interesting and I found some liveaboards departing from Gladstone to Heron as well (thus transfer solved...)

    Healthy reef on GBR?

Thanks fot your thoughts, Whitsundays are out then, Lord Howe is interesting, it is really off the beaten track :). The complication is, that I am not only for diving in Australia, a Lord Howe trip would mean another flight within the trip, but I'll give it a thought. Anyway, not dismissed the...

    Healthy reef on GBR?

Thanks for the links! The sites these boats visit (Norman, Saxon, Hastings & Pellowe, Milln, Thetford, Flynn) are in the central zone, probably affected, maybe I should look something more to the south. What about the (quite turistic) Whitsundays area? (probably served from Mackay)

    Coral Bleaching

Osprey is considered to be an outer reef, not extremely north - still I don't read much good about it...

    Day Trips in Eastern Australia

Have you finally done the trip? I am about to pull the trigger for a trip in May - and obviously don't want to spend precious holiday time and lots of $$$ on visiting a graveyard/partial graveyard. I see all kind of feedback, local businesses mostly dismissing the problem, quoting guests, 99%...

    Healthy reef on GBR?

I am still undecided on my 2017 diving trip, my travel dates shifted to May. I looked up multiple destinations, here is my shortlist. Investing a lot of time (flying from Europe) and a fair amount of money, I want to avoid dead reefs (Only 7% of the Great Barrier Reef has avoided coral bleaching...

    Ningaloo advice, April 2017?

Thanks for the link! These figures actually don't look THAT bad if one divides them with the 1.45 EURAUD rate and compares it to a "normal" Maldives liveaboard. Still, it's on the expensive side, I'll take a look on Indonesia (Bali/Lombok) as well. Thanks for sharing!

    Ningaloo advice, April 2017?

Are there diving liveboard boats serving the Ningaloo reef? I am planning an extensive dive trip (1week, 20+dives if possible) for next April and looking for options. I favor full packages (diving+accomodation) and livaboards - to make it simple and keep budget reasonable. How are the diving...

    Newly Single - Diving Locations

Yepp, Mozambique. Haven't seen a Manta or a Whaleshark before, that must be fixed :D Btw, Mozambique resorts (not the bigger towns!) are also told to be safe, but I'll report back if I survive. :))

    Newly Single - Diving Locations

In the last 2 years it was a better mix with scandinavians (all kind), dutch and swiss. I am thinking going back next year but I also want to try something new, so probably 2017 will be Tofo for me (still cheaper than the Maldives...)

    Newly Single - Diving Locations

Not being a lady but enjoyed two trips to the south, staying in a diving village (Wadi Lahami), I would definitely encourage you to go not only on boats but resorts with good reputation on the shore. I don't have the big picture, because I haven't visited other places in Egypt, but I have...

Where best in Southern Africa to dive in November 2017

I dived in the Seychelles last year, great diving, surprisingly healthy coral fields (I read everywhere that a huuge bleaching killed everything there - simply not true...), turtles, a few sharks. Nothing spectacular, such as whaleshark & Co. Btw the Seychelles is also great topside, we cycled...

    Diving shallow on Nitrox.

I was lazy to read all the comments, I personally would dive nitrox <10m/30' (c'm on, do you people call this a dive?) if I had a very deep dive before and I want to decrease my N2 level because I want a third dive or I want to do some hiking/driving in the mountains (happens in Croatia where I...

Moz - Ponta do Ouro any good?

Still haven't decided for my 2017 spring (April) trip. I have limited time (10days) and want to combine diving with some nice southern hemisphere stargazing - latter is probably going to happen in a SA farm. Ponta do Ouro seems to be easy to access via Durban, has anyone dived there? How is...

Nothing serious, at least... These guys sometimes leave a penis behind

    Feed Great White Sharks

Wow, that's called hardcore cage diving! Luckily apparently no one got hurt (neither the shark nor the diver).

When/which month did you go? How were the sea conditions/visibility? Seen any Blue whales?

    DYRON Wide angle wet lens?

I'am asking here too, the panny topic is very silent... I came across a store review of the WWL-1 and an interesting piece of glass showed up there: the Dyron SWAL13. Does anyone have experience with it? The WWL-1 with a decent zoom behind is a real competitor to the panny 7-14, but it's quite...

Dyron Wide angle correctors for m43?

I came across a store review of the WWL-1 and an interesting piece of glass showed up there: the Dyron SWAL13. Has anyone tried this, and its narrower siblings on a m43 camera? First round I'd try it on my NA-RX100iv for 4k video shooting, as a cheap alternative to the WWL-1.
