    Grand Cayman technical diving

In 2020 it was $3.50/cuft for 21/35 with no refund for gas unused unless the tank was still full.

Question PST 104 characteristics with lean trimix

@mr_v Faber 108s CCR side mount with TRIMIX are glorious. Probably easier to get your hands on and may be cheaper as well. Caveat: I don't need a lot of lead. With NX in LP85s I'm way overweighted, even with my Halo undergarment.

Provocative talk yesterday at NSS-CDS: Toss out the rule of thirds?

Floating through the cave motionless on a CCR, just the gentle nudge of the flow and the sound of your own breathing. Doesn't get much more serene than that.

    Grand Cayman technical diving

I'm surprised they don't have anyone. I hope you get to do your dives, the deep walls there are amazing.

An age-old question: ways to 60m.

I can't believe I'm stepping into this. When I listened to this talk during RF4, my 25 years of statistical analysis and engineering experience sent off blaring sirens of wrongness. The conclusion was based on having the same total number of incidents annually with no compensation for the...

    Question O2 sensor calibration

Aim for 1.6, if all the cells get there and are reasonably in line with each other, I assume they are all good.

    Question Regretting buying rebreather

As a numbers guy, I sometimes get stuck on no longer getting as many dives. I have to force myself to notice I'm getting 3 times as much in water time.

    Question O2 sensor calibration

Why go through the brain strain of looking at mv underwater? Your cells are calibrated, if PPO2 is outside of expected something is off. Dill flush to cell check. As for the 1.6 check, why does it need to be @ 6m and with a full flush. You can check for current limiting at any point during...

An age-old question: ways to 60m.

If you get a CCR you will find you want to do all your dives on it, not just the deeper ones. This will add up your hours/dives way quicker. If your only doing 25 dives/year, CCR is not for you.

Question Razor Go Sidemount Course worth it? Razor 4.0 vs XDeep Stealth 2.0 Tec

I have a Razor 2.5 that used to be my only wing and I did a lot of big dives (drysuit, LP85s, 3xStages). I have an Xdeep now and the Razor only comes out for recreational warm water wetsuit dives. They both have the same size bladder on paper, but the Xdeep is simply more comfortable when you...

Tech Fins vs Recreational (Mares Quattro, etc.)

Quattro's are actually fairly popular with tech divers. You find them a lot in the MX caves. I would expect all the "tech" kicks to be fine in them as long as your doing it correctly.

Question Is the KISS Sidewinder the best to learn on on & keep for a lifetime?

A needle valve is always proper set. Doesn't matter if your kicking into current or riding the DPV. Do you adjust you CMF IP for every dive? Edit: typo

The Journey to Decompression Procedures with Sidemount

"Task, buoyancy, Team" Repeat this in your head. With each word, that's where you focus should be. Task, put your hand on the bolt snap preparing to pick up the tank. Buoyancy, add a puff to the wing. How does it feel? Team, where is my teammate, do they need assistance? Etc... etc... etc...

Question Is the KISS Sidewinder the best to learn on on & keep for a lifetime?

SW fanboy here, I think the problem with the tower isn't necessarily quality, but human factors. I found it was quite easy to only half attach the the bayonets and they would still pass the positive and negative tests. I never dove one like that, but I could see it coming lose. I'm running LM...

Question Regarding expanding our business in USA

I'm going to try to be constructive. There are a lot of places in the US that don't have good instructors available. Find a location with a base of "hungry" divers that don't have many other options.

The Journey to Decompression Procedures with Sidemount

Cut the cord as short as possible. I also have my cord tied to the top side of the flange so it's always there on top.

    another steel tank issue

I agree with @Mobulai , looks like the left tank is floaty, not the right. Hard to tell in the video, but I would start with the BCD inflator/deflator his pushing the tank around.
