Actually, no one is requiring a "blinking red light"; just a personal marker light. And I'm not entirely sure that is even a requirement, but I don't want to be caught short. (This group is headed up by an instructor, although I'm not one of his students; just going along for the ride.)
No, not talking about a bright strobe light, just a "small" blinking red light (TEKTITE). Actually, it's not my idea, but required for the dive. Couldn't hurt, I guess. Attaching to the tank neck sounds like the best idea. I'll see how that works.
Pretty basic question, but where is the best place to attach a night dive strobe light so that it doesn't get tangled with various hoses etc, but will be prominently displayed?
I had a triggerfish that kept nipping at my earlobe on a dive years ago. Only time that ever happened. Although rather painful, it, luckily, didn't draw blood (and I kept my earlobe).
Nice to hear from you. The LA County Advanced Scuba course was one of my more memorable experiences I was lucky enough to have taken part in while in southern Cal. Some pretty dedicated instructors that really knew their business. Good times and good memories. :-)
Recently received my first dive mask with prescription lens inserts (had to, unfortunately, stop wearing contacts). Haven't used the mask yet; however, after I got it home, I began to wonder how does one, initially, treat a brand new mask with prescription lens inserts. The mask manual...
Measured the metal mouthpiece "orifice projection" on the Dacor with that of my trusty old MK5, and they compare favorably. If the Atomic fits your MK5's, it (or the SEACURE) should work nicely. (They must have made regulator mouthpieces smaller back then). Thanks for the help.
Looking for replacement mouthpiece for a Dacor Pacer regulator. I'm assuming the dimensions given for mouthpieces online refer to the width/height of the inside of the mouthpiece itself (could be wrong here). If this is, in fact, the case, it appears that all mouthpiece dimensions I've found...
Anyone tried downloading Mares "Dive Organizer" Version 2.16? Tried downloading Version 2.16 (my current Version 2.14.--- no longer downloads my Puck Pro dive data), but no can do. Get immediate antivirus notice that a virus has been detected, then the Dive Organizer download page shuts down...
Having a problem dowloading data from my Puck Pro. I hook-up the download cable to my PC and plug in the other end to the Puck Pro clip; and I get a green light in the clip. I then attach the clip to the Puck Pro, which is set to "PC READY", and the green light in the clip changes to RED. I...
We saw three of these guys (Goliaths) while diving the Liberty ship out of Destin last week. Very cool. That's what I've always liked about diving- you never know what you're going to see when you go down there.
OK. This was just a test to see if anyone was paying attention : ). Went to the Mares tech site and asked the same question. According to them, the Puck o-ring will NOT fit the Puck Pro. Have to have a Mares retailer order it for me. Seems like a lot of bother, considering that you can buy the...
Anyone know if the o-ring that's included with the Mares Puck battery/o-ring replacement kit will fit the Puck Pro as well? The Puck battery/o-ring kits seem to be readily available, but have yet to find a similar kit for the Puck Pro. Any suggestions?
