A friend had the same problems. That plastic plate on which back suspension belt is attached, was breaking constantly. And he couldn't get it to fit. Problem was easily solved. He bought BP/W.
I was changing the battery of my Meridian in a local watch shop. I've done this 3 times, without any problems.
By the way I needed to change the battery every 30 dives, so I don't use it any more for diving. It's a pity, because it's a fine computer.
Computer is new, never used and never in the water. I have bought 2 of them, one for me and one for a former friend, who has changed his mind.
Computer was taken out of the box, turned on and connected to PC for upgrading to EANx.
I'm in Slovenia.

The store is safe.
I have ordered 2 xDeep BT on Thursday and received them the day after, on Friday. It seams that shipping inside EU will take 1 - 2 days.
Currently they still have it in stock.
The solution to you swim through situation is bpw and DRY SUIT or jacket bcd with redistributed weights between bcd and dry suit. Why I am capitalising dry suit? Because you can control buoyancy. You can not do that in wet suit.

OMG it's like reading story about my first year. I'm not as good with words as you are, so I would like to use your post to say thank you to scubaboard. I'm certain that I wouldn't be diver as I am today, if it weren't for you guys.
Thank you.

What are your experience with loosing insurance?
I mount my shears on my waist belt to the left. The only problem is, every time I'm removing my rig, shears slide off my belt. How do you guys secure knife/shears sheath to BP/W harness so they are not sliding off?
Yes so you can connect both primary and secundary 2nd stage.
But in my experiance dfc is just antoher marketin gimmick and it only makes more difficult finding right hoses.
Dfc was always on the right place :) because on the older models they were using stiff hoses and it was easiet routin...
