What is rated / condidered a "dive"?

I'll post the link someone else posted the last time this subject came up; I couldn't imaging NOT logging a dive in this pool: http://www.nemo33.com/en

    Safety Gear

Any suggestions on lights for the purposes of safety (and maybe looking in a crevice or two)?

    Women's BCD Suggestions

My wife and daughter have Zeagle Zenas and love them. Apparently the zipper front is very comfortable for them. The Zena (and Zeagles in general) have separate shoulder and torso sizing. They also come with tank strap weight pockets.

    Air integrated computers w/ transmitters

Isn't Suunto giving away transmitters now through the end of the year?

Tropical wetsuit recommendations for skinny guy.

I am 5'7" 135 lbs. I bought a 5mm Pinnacle Tempo based on the size charts on their website and it fits me perfectly. My kids have Bare Velocity 5/4 's in medium and large. Length-wise they are perfect, in the body perhaps a bit loose, but acceptable; the arms, though are out of proportion...

    understanding dive computer

I respectfully disagree with you -- the Oceanic manual has a distinct lack of words, instead opting for symbols and punctuation marks that seem to be inserted randomly and without any particular meaning ;). ... but you are right in that when there is actually a sentence (and I use that term...

Lower risk of DCS with conservative profiles in divers w/ & w/o R->L shunt.

I'd love to get my hands on the actual publication. The abstract raises all sorts of red flags with regards to the potential clinical utility of the study.

    What constitutes a loggable "dive"

Ok, that is just too damn cool ... and yeah, I would think one would want to log that ...

Best Option for a $700-$800 (approx.) Dive Computer? (Suunto, Oceanic, Aeris...)

If you do a quick search at the online sites -- you should definitely find a few. Mangiano mentioned the VT3 which is now advertised as coming with the transmitter. Some shops may still have the previous generation Oceanic Atom 2 /Aeris. I gave you my experience up above as well. You might...

    Small (kid) size fins

I ended up buying a pair of the Akona Caicos fins they are lightweight, and at 21" -- sized just right for my son. BUT -- the straps are terrible -- it's a hard plastic tab that slides in. The straps came loose several times even in the pool. You can tighten the fit by pushing the tabs out...

Best Option for a $700-$800 (approx.) Dive Computer? (Suunto, Oceanic, Aeris...)

Not sure how much help I can be (newb myself), but just bought an Atom 3 w/ transmitter (and comes with USB cable) for $599 (actually got 4 for all in the family). I was looking for a wristmount with a smaller face (small wrists/kids). I haven't been in the water with it, but played with it...

Halcyon Infinity vs. Traveler (leaning toward Zeagle Stiletto) / others?

Just finished my confined water training. Open water coming up in a few weeks followed by a number of dives already planned. Originally, I was going to hold off on buying a BC, but after a number of different BCs during the cw sessions -- all of them equally uncomfortable / confining /...

    Ranger Jr.

Arrived just in time (in 2 days) for a review session -- my son loves it -- beats exerting all his energy fighting with an adult sized bcd that keeps wanting to slide off his shoulders! Thanks for the help! Now it's my turn -- pm (or phone call) coming your way.

    Ranger Jr.

Scubatoys is not current. I'll have to give Zeagle Express a call.

    Ranger Jr.

Is the Ranger Jr. (generally) available -- everywhere I have looked, it is backordered "at least 30 days". I am looking for a BC system for my 12-yr. old son (new diver). He is on the small side -- 4'7", ~80 lbs and a generally small build. He flounders in any adult sized BC (ie. XXS adult)...

    Small (kid) size fins

Thoughts on fins for a 11 year old? My son is 4' 8" and has used the Deep See Splash for snorkeling. He/we are in the process of getting OW cert. Any recommendations for smaller scale fins that don't dwarf him, or is he better of just staying with the snorkeling fins until he grows a couple...
