Blue Water Shark Diving - Looking for Buddies

Hi everyone. I’m looking for people interested in taking trips to freedive/snorkel with sharks, and whatever other pelagics we encounter. I’d basically like to go offshore, chum the water, see what shows up and go diving with them. If you google shark diving san diego you will find several...

    Free-flowing inflator

Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge and experience. It seems the potential for disaster here is as real as I imagined. Even recreational diving NDL's are based on safe ascent rates. An uncontrolled ascent from 100 fsw near a NDL could result in getting bent, and obviously the threat of...

Hi everyone My diving has, and for the near future will be conducted at recreational depths and limits. However, I would like to progress into more advanced disciplines and I like to conduct my diving with a tech mindset. I usually dive dry, hybrid jacket/ wing bc, steel single back and slung...

Is there any reason to do a Nitrox 'course'?

I know what you mean...But.. I like nitrox as an extra level of conservatism. It never hurts to take on less nitrogen. In case a stop has to be blown off... I know a couple of divers who dive nitrox on air NDL's for this reason.

Is there any reason to do a Nitrox 'course'?

Yes, the information conveyed in a nitrox class is simple. In fact i think it can almost be summed up: Analyze your fills and know the MOD. This is probably why my nitrox class lasted 1:45, including the test. You will not get fills without the card. Even if you got fills, most boats i've been...

    Drysuit Questions

From the OP: Thank you, everyone, for your input. I have done ten dives in my suit over the last month. I first sent it it San Diego. The exhaust valve was shot, as was the zipper. I took advantage of the Spring DUI demo tour at Dutch, did my first real dry dives with instructors. Not a...

    Nitrox Question

From the OP I'll be shore diving at a spot with both air and nitrox fills. I dive a computer, rarely use tables. Both my back tanks and bailout are full of air. To avoid the process of emptying them and getting nitrox fills i was hoping to do the first dive on air, then filling nitrox...

    Nitrox Question

Hi everyone... My questions concerns doing a dive on air, then a second dive on nitrox. Can one's pressure group, on the air and nitrox tables, be interchanged? If one does an air dive surfacing in group R, interval to group F, say. Can that person then plan a nitrox dive...

You guys are right, i should not have mentioned mens sizes, its just what, as a guy, comes to mind... never considered the compression aspect. there could be a difference there. the hyperflex suit i have is 3 on the arms and the rest is 5.
