Scubapro parts for life program update

I guess I dive a lot with just buddys; not known, competent people who subscribe to a briefed and followed plan like I do. I've been the junior diver on too many dives where I wound up leading some confused buddy. Had to drag a disoriented instructor out of the top of the trees once at Windy...

Scubapro parts for life program update

I can't understand how one can say to anyone who's diving at 120 feet, pushing no deco with a typical sport diver's rig and has a first stage blowout "it is very silly" to think what just broke isn't life safety equipment? And what ARE the most basic tenants of dive safety? Really. Given I've...

Scubapro parts for life program update

A bit OT here, but when maintenance of a sophisticated piece of equipment is required, I believe only certain people have the talent to service such equipment, regardless of their certifications, and put it back into their customer's hands to test it. I have been a flight instructor for over 35...

    Aquarena update, anyone?

Just talked to the Army Corps of Engineers in Dallas. The Spring Lake project manager told me they are waiting for the grass coverage to reach 95% before they can release the lake back to Aquarena. It's currently at 75-80%. She also said that given the current growth of the grass, she expects...

    Braided hoses with Comfort Swivel

This would be a much-wanted upgrade. Any discussion about a trade-in option?

    Regulator Second Stage Hose Swivel

Atomic also said they service their swivel when you send their equipment in for service. That's good, because I would never let anyone but Atomic service my Z2X. A bit too complex for me, and what better than factory service.

Can't find it on the common online vendor sites. Reason?

Atomic Authorized service vs. good and inexpensive regulator service

I've had an Atomic Z2X now for one week, haven't dove it yet, spent HOURS researching it, gathering documentation, so now I'm an expert. I have always disassembled everything I have ever dove to pieces, until it couldn't be taken apart anymore. Just because. However, I will never disassemble my...

SCUBAPRO New parts for life program

So, is SP losing the TIS fins next year or not? If so, that would make the gold SP, well, last years model.

SCUBAPRO New parts for life program

I have personally heard rumblings from the dealers, regardless of how hard "the beav" tries to spin the indisputable facts. ---------- Post added November 27th, 2012 at 06:13 PM ---------- Sorry, I just got to ask. How much is this beauty going to retail for?

SCUBAPRO New parts for life program

I did not know that. Thank you for that information. Still, something seems to be influencing SP's direction in the last few years. Why change something that wasn't broken (except for the one-year service requirement)? Why the deterioration of their customer support, even to their dealers (as I...

SCUBAPRO New parts for life program

Dear ams511, This pretty much expresses my view on SP's new "direction." Please don't misunderstand; I am trying hard not to bash SCUBAPRO. I think SCUBAPRO is superb equipment. I just think Johnson Outdoors Living, LLC, has ruined them. and I think the next year or two will be a watershed...

    Why not Atomic?

Am I being censored here? Just testing. Okay, I think something is going on with this thread. I'll summarize my reply that didn't get posted: Atomic Ryan, Great customer-oriented reply. EU is third-world customer service. I returned my MK25/S600 because of SP's revolving-door warranty. Got a...

    Lifetime warranty = no warranty?

Dear Ryan, WOW! I just returned my mostly new MK25/S600 regulator to my fine LDS because of Scubapro's revolving-door warranty wording. My LDS didn't recommend the Scubapro; I bought it because of my brand-loyalty pigheadedness. He then INSISTED I buy an Atomics Z2X, which is a wonderful...
