I ended up pulling the inflator flush with the hole and then sealed it up with Aquaseal. WOW! That stuff is GREAT!
Tried it in the pool and so far it's been working great!
My 13 Year old son went to Boy Scout camp this week and took Scuba Certification.. He successfully completed his SSI Open Water Online course before camp. I heard from his scout master that he only got the Scuba Diver Certification instead of the open water.
Anyone know about SSI? I'm a PADI...
Just glued the valve in place with some Aquaseal, let it cure overnight and tried it in the pool today.. WOW! Aquaseal is pretty amazing stuff! Didn't leak during my hour in the pool!
Recently purchased some used gear and was going to take it into my local dive shop for general maintenance.. Was BLOWN away by how much they charge for service! To take a look at my octo kit and bcd was going to cost an estimated $200 for labor and parts kits.. This really seems like a rip off...
I'm so glad I found this thread. I have a Sherwood Freedom that I would really like to "Get working" again. Is that valve a "free floating valve" that creates a seal when it's held flush with the grommet or should it be attached?
Any Sherwood experts out there?
I just picked up the same BCD and air is gushing out of the "mystery valve" under the left pocket.. There was some sort of rubber gasket holding the valve flush.. When I took it off, the valve fell back inside the air bladder.
Is that valve supposed to be "free floating" and the gasket holds...
