    Oly PT-010 latch hook repair

On a Friday two weeks ago, I was loading my Oly 3040 into it's PT-010 for the next day's dives and I heard a snap as I closed the latch. The housing has about 220 dives in a bit over 2 years. With considerable dismay, (!) I noted that the plastic latch hook had broken in two at the Tee...

Tech Admin May I suggest making the Last Post column a bit wider on the photo gallery template? And, good work getting the site back up! Gerry

    Uruguay diving

Well, I don't know anyone in Uruguay, but I know a Uruguayan diver (instructor actually) who now lives in Chile. He can answer all your questions. PM me if you want his email. Gerry

    damn neck seal!

Try a cotton shirt that really shows water and jump in the pool for a few minutes. When you get out, even a few drops of water will show clearly. After a normal dive, it would be hard to tell where the leak is as there is too much water. Gerry

    PT-10 shutter actuator repair

I had to do some maintenance to my PT-10 housing when the shutter actuator stopped moving freely. I put some pics of the process on the following site: PT-10 repair After nearly 200 dives on the housing, I am still on the original main o-ring and (tiny) tube of grease, though I have a...

    Anyone in Cozumel Feb 2-9?

Well, I will finally find out what diving in warm, clear water is like. I'm really looking forward to ditching the drysuit for a change. All set to go to Cozumel on above dates. Anybody from the board plan to be there at that time? I am the only diver in the family, so I will be looking...

Posting Profiles from Suunto's Dive Manager

UP I don't think Dive Manager explicitly lets you save a graph as a pic, so the solution is the same as for any other screen shot. Get what you want on the screen, and then hit Control-PrintScreen (or CNTL-PrtScr). PrtScr is a key in the block to the left of the number key pad and above...

    Olympus PT-010 depth limit warning

I've had my PT-10 to 35 metres a few times, without a problem. However, I noticed that the case deforms a bit and the plunger that switches to macro does not actuate the button reliably. No leaks after about 180 ocean dives with it, but the shutter trigger is now sticking down sometimes. I...

    Divinng in Lima Peru

Thanks for the post. As it happens I am officially moving to Lima next week. I have been in Peru a month and a half, but unfortunately spent most of the time on top of a mountain. There is no lack of those around here. If you PM me your phone number I would like to talk to you. I am in...

What do you consider "Cold Water" when wetsuit diving?

Most of my diving to date has been in 11-12 deg (52-54F). I find that for one dive, I have no problem with a full 7mm with 7mm jacket. I have never tried colder, but I think I could stand several degrees colder. However, for the second dive, I was always cold with the wetsuit. Even in...

    All about Halcyon wings

On May 24, 2003 while checking out my gear, I noticed that my Halcyon wing has another cut, 2 in fact, on the BP side. See pics. http://community.webshots.com/album/66671030EJMekM This includes my previous pics of the first repair. The first 3 pics are from March, and the rest are from...

    Divinng in Lima Peru

    Divinng in Lima Peru

¡Oye, Guillermo! As is happens, I am moving to Lima tomorrow to start a new job on June 2. I live in the north of Chile right now and have been diving quite a bit the last couple of years. As I said on another thread, I won't be able to dive as much in Lima because I will be working at...
