Halcyon Focus 2.0 vs Light Monkey 32W Variable Focus

Thanks for the reply. I am comparing these two light heads in their e/o version as I plan to use my existing canister. Interesting to hear the focus as a wider diffusion. Found it odd that no angles were mentioned for either lighthead.

Halcyon Focus 2.0 vs Light Monkey 32W Variable Focus

I am looking at light heads and given the cost I want to make the right choice. Where I live I am unable to test either of these or even see on in the flesh. Can anyone who has used or owned wither of these give me some idea of how they compare? What are the ranges of the beam angles possible...

    Sitech Antares ring problem

Have been diving with the oval Sitch antares glove system for a few weeks trouble free. Unfortunatly i recently had a cylinder fall on one of the rings..... Since then i am having trouble getting the RHS glove seated correctly, the tab had to be bent back into shape and does not seem to hold...

    Silfra question

While it truly is an amazing dive, if you are pushed for time/finances i would say just do it once. Its quite a short dive and the second dive will be the exact same. If you are able to you could record it? Personally my first time there i did two dives and was glad i did as the first was quite...

    Diving in Iceland

Hi hope im not too late. If you contact Valdi at kofunarvorur.is he rents out tanks/suits/weights and speaks perfect English. There are some great divesites around Iceland and it is a shame to only see Silfra.

    Interesting new hose configuration

I recently came across an interesting alternative to the standard DIR/Hogarthian hose configuration and wondered if anyone here could think of any reason not to do it. Instead of running the HP hose down your left side it is routed over the left shoulder alongside your wing inflator hose and...

    Wing recommendations

Thanks for the responces. I am leaning towards horseshoe because that is what I am used to. I would also like to be able to stage steel cylinders when to other option is available, ie. Compensate weight using one side of wing. My current wing feels quite unsteady and well readily tip one way or...

Wow thanks for the excellent post! Lots of information, and confirmed alot of what I suspected. Now a follow on question, sticking with that optimum shape, what horseshie wings are available? The xdeep hydros and frog midnight look right but are donuts.. Thanks again

I see how donut wings would help in your situation but being tail heavy is not my problem at the moment. I hope my excellent paint diagram will show what i feel is going on:

Not sure I can agree with your comments on wing shape not effecting buoyancy. The trapezoid shape of thr sms100 in 0 degree trim will cause any air to migrate to the rear. I have all my weights on cambands on the tail of my cylinders and am still out of balance. Thanks for the comments so...

Hi thanks for the replies, tanks are euro 12s, diving is 90% dry. Stages are almost always aluminium or small steel tanks.

I am looking for advice and experiences with various wings. When backmounting I am diving an sms100 on a stainless backplate with twinset. I am not happy with the buoyancy of this setup as it tends to be too light in the legs and only just provides the lift needed to stay on the surface. This...

    Post your favorite YouTube videos

Good video but i cant make sense of the situation. From what i can tell it is two scientific CCR divers at up to 120m/400ft without a clear diveplan and the only visible diver in the video (the cislunar diver) has a single 12L bailout? Does anyone have anymore information? Noticed comments...

Cold water sidemount Video, Razor clone No/wing

Spgs on even a six inch hp hose have enough give to be bend round and seen pretty easily. Even with button gauges directly fitted to hp port the cylinders can be unclipped and brought round to check gas.

    Apeks trouble

Hi, wondered if anyone can give me a hand here. Have been using a set of ds4s / atx50's for a year or so, and just this morning i had some trouble. After a totally normal dive with no trouble, my inflator hose was leaking air out the inflator side. Then after removing the drysuit hose from the...
