Lost Island Voyages (Bahamas) - Liveaboard Experience

As far as what to bring and not to bring, for a commercialized organization, I'd assume towels would be plenty, but in this case of a private run family organization, I would recommend you bring at least 5-6 towels, although; LIV (Lost Island Voyages) gave me towles when I needed it :) After...

Lost Island Voyages (Bahamas) - Liveaboard Experience

No worries bossman, the cost was about $1200 which included all your dives, boat trip, room, food and drinks, etc. The Marine life was very plentiful and full! The crew has a few tubs on board to rinse your gear as needed as well as a HUGE tub back at the docks once you get back should you want...

Lost Island Voyages (Bahamas) - Liveaboard Experience

Hello everyone! So, I just completed my first liveaboard (Lost Island Voyages in the Bahamas) and I wanted to share this experience that Jesus blessed me with on the board here. First, I was looking for somewhere cheap to fly to and an inexpensive liveaboard trip that was really top quality...

    Which Turks and Caicos Liveaboard?

Hello Mike sir, Yes, I've been on a sail boat and you are right about the size of the boat with 12 people being a wee bit small. While I have researched the many different liveaboards to take given my budget that I was looking to spend on, I have to say, I have read nothing but great reviews...

    Which Turks and Caicos Liveaboard?

Yeah, probably not a good idea. You know, I've heard a lot of things about Turks and Caicos, but, are the liveaboards there really that good or are they just ok? You know, is it worth the money? Would it be wise to do a liveaboard or get a resort and do just a few dives?

    Which Turks and Caicos Liveaboard?

Thank you everyone for your input and advice. I have decided to go with the "Lost Island Voyages" in the Bahamas. L.I.V was much more affordable and closer to fly to, plus, the business is family orientated and seemed much more friendly. I did call the other companies, but they were completely...

    Which Turks and Caicos Liveaboard?

Thank you moderator, but quick question - do you have a website for the T/C Explorer? And also, where is that Explorer going? Bahama's Turks and Caicos?

    Which Turks and Caicos Liveaboard?

Can I get some input from the scuba board about these 3 different liveaboards? Price ranges, but, I'd like to see if there are any folks here that have done any of these or have heard of them and the quality of food (amount - large or small servings) quality of service, the boat and her rooms...

    Scuba Tricks?

Does anyone know how to do the big RINGS out of your mouth / regulator that you can practically swim your body through?

    Scuba Tricks?

Lol - all of these were classics! That warhammer deal though - is that legal? LOL. Walking on the sand seems really cool, but, with all of the hidden sea life that blend in so well, I'm not sure if I'd like to really go there. I have wanted to know how to blow those big rings under water that...

Still Nervous as a Advanced Nitrox Diver - advice please?

Just to give everyone a quick update...Jesus grace keeping me, the diving went great! One of the better (comfortable) dives indeed! Became more comfortable with my navigation, received my Bouyancy certification, and even took a sea-sick pill just to be on the safe side. Visibility was not that...

Manta Sonar "Dive Ray" - Anyone know...(Needing Assistance)

Hello Scubaboard! There is a device called the "Manta Sonar "Dive Ray." This device is a sonar device. I am trying to see if anyone here has used it or has knowledge as to the detection ability? Can it detect objects underneath the sand? Coins, Fossils, Metal, etc.?

Still Nervous as a Advanced Nitrox Diver - advice please?

Well, as much as I'd like to say I haven't tried that, I have and it is when I am outside that I feel very nautious. I mean, I am fine throughout the tripe to the dive site. The nausea only happens once I PUT MY WETSUIT ON. Once I do that, my body heats up - weird. :)

Still Nervous as a Advanced Nitrox Diver - advice please?

What everyone is saying makes so much sense, but, Boulderjohn, that last statement honestly makes the most sense. Boulderjohn, when I was home doing *Continuous* dives, I can safely say that I did not have those anxiety issues. I was comfortable and good-to-go. The nausea still was present once...

Still Nervous as a Advanced Nitrox Diver - advice please?

Actually, I feeling a thousand times better from this discussion! As far as my number of dives go, yes, they are pretty accurate. And yes, this only happens on the one boat in NC (which might I say - I love the shop, they are great folks). A lot of my other dives have been very far from land...

Still Nervous as a Advanced Nitrox Diver - advice please?

GCarter, I think you're right! Because that's how I feel after I suit up. I mean, maybe as a result of that suit heating deal, now, when ( in that NC area ) I go on deep dives, I have gotten a bit nervous ( although, after these conversations, I am feeling 1,000 times better ). How can I...

Still Nervous as a Advanced Nitrox Diver - advice please?

Apadua, I am not afraid of diving deep waters - I really enjoy that. Heck, the deepest I've been has been around 137 ft in Belize in the Blue Hole which I can safely say was probably one of the BEST dives I've ever done! haha. I am just trying to figure out why am I getting nervous on my dives...

Still Nervous as a Advanced Nitrox Diver - advice please?

Thank you EVERYONE for your input. Boulderjohn, my diving has been through a variety of places around the world (SABA, ARUBA, PHUKET, BELIZE, USA, etc.). Because of the type of work I do, I travel a lot and am away from home, therefore; my diving is about every 4-6 months when I am on a...
