    Caribbean Liveaboard

Just as a caveat, the Blackbeard's ships are kind of a bunk bed operations. Some folks enjoy the shared space accommodation but as an older guy, I prefer my little bit of privacy at night. The Caribbean Pearl is a pretty clean ship but you can get some of the same dives from land based resorts...

    Hold-up at Tawali

My choice would be Walindi Plantation and the FeBrina liveaboard. Got a group header there later this year and can't wait. We love PNG.

    Shark dives at Beqa Lagoon

If you are thinking of Fiji and specifically the Beqa area, you might want to consider Lalati Resort. Lalati is on a bay better protected from wind and rain and the location affords some better dive site options. I book both resorts but tend to prefer Lalati.

New member from SoCal looking for Honeymoon Destination

Out of LAX, Cabo San Lucas is a quick and easy destination. If you are looking for something a bit more exotic, I get a number of all-inclusive packages to Fiji that include R/T airfare. These are often priced about the same as a trip to Cozumel or the Caymans for us.

How good is Rocky in terms of large pelagics compared to for instance Brothers?

Earlier this year I had two ladies from Canada (Montreal & Toronto) on the Cassiopeia on a Sudan trip. They enjoyed the ship, crew and dives. The Cassiopeia and Andromeda run Sudan itineraries part of the year, then Egypt. Their trips are pretty reasonable and shore service good.

    customs question

An issue to consider with the USD-Peso exchange via ATMs in Cancun and Cozumel is the rumored security concern. Apparently some ATMs have been configured internally to extract card data via bluetooth. I believe this is on third party ATMs seen on the street, in hotel lobbies, etc and not those...

    Help, need to Book ASAP

Grenada is a great destination. I have a diver friend who was just there (second trip I believe) and reports it to be like the Caribbean islands of the "old days." The kind of trip you dream the Caribbean to be but don't often find. Turks & Caicos are similar in nature, Dominica too is a nature...

    Next dive vacation?

I might suggest the Atlantis Resorts in either Puerto Galera or Dumaguete, Philippines. They often run good promo deals and flights are fairly easy to Manila. As you said, there is a lot of ocean out there. I guess my first question would be your budget as some flights can be as expensive as the...
