Wife and I have been certified and active divers for almost 30 years. We have finally convinced one of our daughter's to get certified and I have set her up with some of our lightly used equipment so that she has stuff that fits her comfortably for her training. As I have recently upgraded to...
I recently purchased a Tern TX for myself and my wife and set up the AI transmitter and everything works fine. My big question is that under the menus in the Tern it allows you turn AI off and on. Do you just keep it on always or do you turn it on and off depending if you are diving that day...
I have for sale a Suunto D4i Novo dive computer with transmitter and data cable with around 100 dives on it. Batteries in computer and transmitter just replaced in January and used in Bonaire for around 15 dives. Screen has a scratch which is visible at certain angles but invisible underwater...
Went to my LDS to take a look at the Tern TX - which they didn’t have available. Guy in store was insisting Shearwater told him Peregrine AI is coming and that if I prefer the form factor of the Peregrine (my old eyes do like the bigger size) I should “pre-order one” for when it’s announced. I...
Found an engagement ring at a local beach after receiving a call from a friend. Apparently everyone on the beach had been looking for hours and my buddy was there and he called asked if I could come by with my tanks and gear and take a look. I went down and it was a little unnerving with...
Just returned from Bamboo Bonaire -4th time in Bonaire -
CHEFS - outstanding in every way - for any restaurant meal, not just on Bonaire;
Sebastians - always nice and solid food;
Pizza Mare (old Between 2 Buns) - very good pizza and tiramisu;
It Rains Fishes - again, nice with a good view...
I have for sale a lightly used TG-6 Setup that includes everything you could need to step up your underwater photo game. I’ve used this setup on approximately 60 dives and it has produced excellent results for me - a novice photographer. Only reason I am selling is that as I get older I am not...
I bring an old iPhone 6 and throw my SIM in it and put it in a ziplock and then a small Pelican style dry case in my BC pocket. No issues yet. Wife carries the key fob in one of those waterproof diver eggs. More than 50 dives with no issue using this setup in Bonaire. I need to be available...
I use dual YS-01 on stupid mode and I think they are great. I hate fiddling during a dive and these have worked very well with my TG6 for numerous quality pix
The older I get the less I like dealing with day-boat diving. When I'm on vacation I want to get up when I like, go diving when I like, do as many dives as I please and not be scheduled. I guess that's why I keep going back to Bonaire - mellowest dive vacations ever.
Interesting. I lost my wedding ring by Devil's Grotto in Grand Cayman back in 2000 - never found it and called the dive shop there every month or so for almost a year afterwards. Locally, I had a friend call and tell me his wife lost her engagement ring at a nearby beach - everyone on the...
I made something like this for shore diving in Bonaire - works very well and keeps my hands free for some of the more challenging entries/exits.
