I'm not a tec diver, but a buddy of mine did his AOW at Hudson Grotto. He said it was pretty gross there (Hudson Gross-o, he called it), but it goes down around 150' with no overhead, if I recall correctly.

I'm close to your wife's size and my backplate weighs 5 lbs. With a full 3mm and an AL 80 tank, I use 4 additional lbs in my trim pockets. My boyfriend is close to your size and his backplate weighs 6 lbs and he dives steel 100's with no additional weight. He wears a 3mm full suit as well...

I'm assuming they have made some improvements. There were wood floors in our room. The bathroom was small, but not moldy. The beds were comfy and the bedding was fresh. It's not fancy by any means, but I wasn't there to hang out in my room. :)

I personally wouldn't be comfortable going out on a 6-pack boat out of Jupiter. That inlet can get downright scary, even when seas are calm. I'm kind of a wuss tho... YMMV. +1 for Capt Sl8r and the Kyalami. If you're there for "lazy Sunday" the trip includes an intercostal cruise and a cookout.
