Thanks for all the feedback and pointers. I will be hooking up with White Manta this weekend and I am really excited. I have been to both Manado and Bali before and wanted to try something new. I'll let you know how it all went.

    Diving from Singapore in August

I will have a few days in Singapore after a business trip to take a dip in the water. I can start my travel on 8/17 in the afternoon and must return to Singapore Sunday 8/21 for a early morning flight on Monday. Are there any operators that can arrange travel out from Singapore? What sites do...

    Palau: The return

Palau was my SECOND open water dive. (My first was Koh Samui). Ever since Palau, I have always been bored diving in the Caribbean. Just doesn't do it for me. I hate my brother for spoiling me so early. With that said, I am returning in July taking my wife. She has never been. I have...

Custom Wetsuit for Cold Natured Wife

My wife thinks it's cold diving in Cozumel in 86F while wearing a 3/2mm and a hood. She is very cold natured. She starts out ok but get chilled by the end of the dive. She's worn an additional 3mm shorty and she was finally warm. I want to get her a thicker suit but don't know if I...

    Truk & Palau

Blue Corner Blue Corner Blue Corner!!! Get yourself a reef hook and enjoy the face peeling currents! Just don't get washed over before everyone else like I did. Scared the poo poo out of me. Loosing my regulator at the same time didn't help either. PPR is nice but $$$$. I recommend...

Palau Land Based. Recommendations on dive ops?

Maybe a little too late but I used Fish N Fins 5 years ago and it was top notch. The service and crew were incrediable! PPR was also nice but very $$$. I still have my "I am a return customer at PPR" t-shirt.

    Popularity of Cozumel

I've been there twice and the main reason we go is convience and price. From Houston, the travel time is about 4-5 hours from home to hotel. We left the house at 8:00am, and was checked in by 12:30pm. We were both in the water by 2:30. The total cost including air, 5-nights hotel (no AI)...

    recent palau photos

During the dive, I had bitten thru my mouth piece. The rubber part that you actually bite down on. I could still hold it in with just my lips. When I got washed over, the regulator fell out of my mouth. I was shooting up from 90' to 40' in an instant. I had no choice but to duck my head...

Best Shore dives for a beginner

Hey bosshogg! I'll be there the same time you are and I am also from Houston! This will be our second time there. The first time we were there, we stayed at Fiesta Americana and dove with Dive House which is right across the street from the hotel. They are a fantastic dive operator and...

Accomodation/Dive Packages in Palau and Yap

The word "nightlife" and Palau or Yap doesn't really go together. There are some in Palau but don't expect anything more than a nice hangout with music.

Maml divers in Peleliu ( Palau ) ??

I sooooo miss Palau. And I sooooo hate Palau for being so beautiful. Nothing I dive now can compare to Palau. Not Bali, not Koh Sami, not Phuket, not Cozumel. But I always try to find what I felt in Palau but never come close. I dove with Fish n Fins and they were wonderful.

    Palau Trip Report

The dives are not exactly easy and it's not exactly hard. The currents are tricky and strong at times. The reef hook diving is about as lazy as you can get. Even more lazy than drift diving. Just find you a piece of rock, hook on and enjoy the view.

    recent palau photos

OMG! Those pictures brought tears to my eyes, especially the Napoleon Wrasse. I was there a few years ago diving Blue Corner and got swept up over the ridge, lost my regulator and have a very scary moment there. I thought I was going to loose my life but this Napoleon came up beside me and...

Help Choose Dive Ops. / Hotel

The trip is book and will be there in less than a week. By this time next week, I'll be doing my first dive with Blue XT and then staying at Hotel Cozumel. I'll do my trip report when I return. Anyone going to be there at the same time?

    beginning diving middle keys florida?

I've stayed on Marathon when I went to the Keys. Didn't do any diving because my wife wasn't certified at the time. So I couldn't tell you if the diving was good or not. However, we did find a nice cozy B&B called Seascape. It was a real treat to be away from the crowd. A caution note, the...

    How close was she?

On our last dive trip to Bali, my wife shot to the surface from 65'. We were about 20 min into our last dive for the entire trip and she had some ear problems. She signaled to me that here ear was "not ok" and she was going to "go up" a few feet. I gave the "OK" sign and watched her go up...

    Canon A95 or Sony DSC-T3

I use the T1, which is just an older model of the T3, to toy around underwater. Don't expect too much for such a small camera. The pictures do have a green push to them but I got a script to remove the push in photoshop. If you want to see samples taken with the T1, you can click here. All...
