Plane Wrecked for James Bond Film?

I saw it in August. A small piece of wing and what looked like the side of the cockpit (square windows). Directly under the rope for the swimming area at El Cid (la Cieba). Both pieces where on top of the sand and tied to concrete chunks with shiney new chains. Probably rubble from the pier...

More of looking for diveshop feedback

I have about 250 dives with Cristina in the last 10 years. I'd say you will be lucky if your reservation gets transfered to her. 2 or 3 times a little storm blew over while we were down and it was probably better to keep your reg in on the surface. But 247 times or so we talked all we...

Make Good Money as a Scuba Instructor

Got to say something here. I've been putting up with your attitude through this whole thread. If I treated my customers or my employees like you do I would have have been out of business a long time ago. But you go ahead, it just makes the rest of the business people look good. But when you...

    Does gender make a difference?

It doesn't matter. My instructor was a male. Did a good job and I trust him. When we go to Cozumel we dive with a female. I trust her too. And enjoy diving with her. She will be instucting my daughter in March. You need to find somebody you can work with and feel comfortable with. I've met a...

    12,000 meters !!!!!!!!!!

Can't get narced at that depth. Those little bubbles coming out of your skin is the extra nitrogen. Don - another business opportunity. They are probably filled with pressurized methane. Tom

Why are you called.....The Great Screen Name Thread

I just use Tom 'cause that's what everybody calls me, 'cause that's my name. Some of those stories are interesting though. Might just have to make up a new story and a new name and come back incognito. Hey that sounds cool. Maybe I'll come back as "Incognito". Just have to think of a good...

    Another great cozumel trip!

Sounds like a good trip. I can picture everything you talked about except I never stayed at that hotel. Trying to plan trips there for just after Christmas and again in March. Sorry Natasha, it's the week after yours. Have to make it fit my kids school break. Don't stir up any silt. Tom

    Los Cabos Dive Fiesta

But even worse. The store clerks offer discounts on purchases if you do a presentation. Taxi drivers, waiters, bartenders. Even desk clerks at hotels try to get you to go to other hotels. More then I've seen anywhere else. But worse than the numbers is attitude. Mean. Nasty. Stepping in front of...

    Los Cabos Dive Fiesta

Sept and Oct are definitely the best time to go. (watch out for timeshares) We like Plaza Las Glorias. Right on the marina. Several diveshops on site. (watch out for timeshares). I would recommend Lands End. Boats aren't quite as good as others but Carlos is great. (watch out for timeshares)...

    What's fsw?

fsw is feet of salt water. As opposed to ffw - feet of fresh water. Actually if you are 100 feet deep in salt water you are the same distance from the surface as if you were 100 feet deep in fresh water. ( I looked it up - yup - 100 feet is 100 feet ). The difference is salt water is slightly...

    Suunto vs Uwatec Nitrox computers

I have a Uwatec. Wrist mount - integrated. The screen is easy to read. You have to send it in to replace batteries but it's supposed to last 8 years between changes. Mine is 2 years old and still at 83% charge. Thats easy to check. Download software is free but the device is about $200. The...

    Akumal

Sue Half Moon Bay is a very pretty area. We had lunch on the beach at a little restaurant. Tried to do some snorkeling after we ate. Seems like we waded out about halfway to Cuba before it got deeper than 3 feet. But there was a lot of small and colorful life in the rocky bottom all the way...

    Costa Club in Cozumel

    integrated weights vs. regular belt

I use #28 when the water temp is down and I need the extra vest and hood. The most comfortable for me is 6 in each side integrated and 16 on a belt. 28 in one place is just to much to lug around. The guys on the boat pulling my equipment up appreciate it too. Tom

    Scubapro

Don't blame a product 'cause you got treated bad at a single shop. My family dives with ScubaPro equipment and everybody is very happy with the choice. We also got a pretty good deal at our local shop. Never a problem with anything. Nothing wrong with Apeks or Atomic if it works for you, just...
