One size does not fit all. I have a Sub Gravity 3mm aluminum BP & 26 lb wing for diving down south on vacation, which weighs 7lb's. For drysuit diving up here at home, it's a Sub gravity 6mm stainless BP which weights 10lb's on its own. The whole rig with a 37 lb wing weighs a little over 15...
These are the 2 masks I was referring to.
X-Vision Ultra diving mask two lens | Mares ( I have this one)
The Mid X vision doesn't have a Liquid skin skirt though.

You cannot buy a mask based on someone else's recommendation, everybody's face is different. Try on as many masks as possible with your regulator in your mouth and buy the one that fits the best. It doesn't matter what brand it is or how much it costs.
See if you can try a Mares mask, they have...
I put silicone grease on my mustache when I had it. Vaseline is petroleum based, so it will degrade the silicone skirt on your mask.

Did you read the whole post? The OP was concerned about the on site dive shop not catering to experienced divers.
"My concern is the dive experience itself. In the past, resorts boasting amazing diving ended up catering to infrequent divers, which isn't ideal for us. With over 1,000 dives under...
For some reason everybody that hasn't dove out of Bayahibe lumps the whole Dominican Republic together, yes the diving out of Punta Cana (on the Atlantic ocean side) is bad.
I just returned yesterday from Bayahibe (on the south Caribbean Sea side) and the diving is quite good and there is...
I have a 24 year old Suunto Cobra that is still going strong and have never had to cut a dive short because of it and I am in no way a conservative diver. I think that I'm only on my 6th or 7th battery?
Environmentally friendly and affordable usually don't go together.
Henderson wetsuits has something they call Greenprene but I don't know anything about them.
I went to Curacao last October and emailed about 5 or 6 dive shops, including Ocean Encounters. They replied that they put 25 to 30 people on a dive boat, that is a ridiculous amount of divers. When I emailed back that was a lot of divers, they stopped responding. The biggest reason I won't ever...
Go with the local dive shop. Sandals limits your dive time, so you can't dive your tank and you have to ascend as a group regardless of how much air you have left. The biggest problem could be finding space on the dive boat. If the boat is full and a Sandals "elite" diver shows up, you will be...
I highly recommend Nicolas from CenoteXperience. I have been diving with Nico for about 13 years, he has a small family run dive shop in Playa. They do both cenote dives & ocean dives and they run dives over to Cozumel. CenoteXperience - Cavern, Cave and Ocean Diving in Playa del Carmen Yucatan...
I would do your open water dives from Playa. There is less current and you will be so focused on the skills, so you notice much else. I highly recommend Nicolas fro CenoteXperience, he has a small family run dive shop in Playa. I have been diving with him since 2011. They do cenote dives, ocean...
No, the 5 star, gold palm or whatever is a bought and paid for designation and has nothing to do with the dive shops safety or teaching ability.
You are off to a good start by asking for recomendations here. When you have narrowed it down to a couple of dive shops, ask a bunch of questions...
Have you checked the settings because you can adjust how conservative it is. I would not change the Nitrox setting to get more bottom time. I have had a Suunto Cobra for over 20 years and I have never had to cut a dive short or been locked out of it and I am not a conservative diver by any means.
