    Scubapro D400 can't be serviced

My diving is quite limited these days but we do get gear serviced every year. I have had my SP D-400 2nd stage for 30 years (well, it was upgraded once) and missed ONE service, so I am on my own. LDS says it needs a part and SP says not made any more. They muttered something about SP only sells...

    CRVO question

I have CRVO, and had read that scuba was not a problem as the fluid in the eye does not compress. But I had been diving last year about a month before the last hemorrhage which was a doozy, and then I read about Terson's Syndrome, which is basically a hemorrhage caused by the pressure created...

    Not just a smaller mask...

I've read all the posts about masks for smaller faces, but haven't seen my issue. I have a narrow and small face, so smaller mask for sure. But paradoxically, I am also fluffy, so when I have a reg in, my cheeks break the seal. Also happens when I smile underwater! I bought two small/junior...

    Fried LED

So, yes, I did. I slapped an LED light onto my old UK mini-Q 40 and yes, there was smoke! It was briefly very exciting. Now I know. What I don't know is, can I replace the light (like this UK Mini Q40 Dive Light Replacement Bulb or must I replace the module?

OS Systems dry suit and bits. Size M? $50

No, this is not the one Jacques Cousteau sold at a yard sale, but it's almost that "antique." Bought new in 1989, worn a dozen or so times, married a dive buddy who only dives warm. What can I say? Size M I think. It's too big for me at 5'3" (back in the dark ages they didn't make a lot of gear...

Older Zeagle Ranger, size L $75

I have an older (OK, it's vintage, circa 1989) Zeagle BC, with a lot of dives on it. Sort of. Zeagle refurbished it for me, so the bladder is new. But by then I had bought a small (because the L never fit). I haven't used it since it was refurbished. Has two dump valves -- one on each lower edge...

    Kudos to PC Dive Charter

Dive yesterday and today with Panama City Dive Charter. Well-run outfit. We enjoyed the diving, but really appreciated the way the boat was run. Captain Dave and DM Matt did a great job. I had not dived the area in quite some time, and almost didn't know my way around. I saw this operation...

Planning KL trip--need some specific info please

We're thinking of popping down to the upper Keys for a few days of diving. We've been several times, using the same operator (except the day after Katrina hit, and we found the only boat willing to go out, and had a great time but I can't recall the name). We liked the operator in general...

PhD survey--need people willing to take it

Hi. I need your help, please. I need people to take this survey! For my doctoral dissertation, I am conducting a survey about spokesperson credibility. I'm curious why some people are much more credible than others when being interviewed. I invite everyone to take my survey. I will donate...

    Need a new LDS--middle GA

Hi all I have moved to central Georgia (near Macon) and need a good LDS to get gear serviced (ScubaPro and Sherwood regs). My very favorite shop of all time is 4 hours from here--a little too far since they are not open on weekends. Please don't suggest the large shop on the interstate...

    Backup/primary computer questions

In searching for info on a new computer, I have developed a severe case of confusion. My AI EON is no longer AI so it's useless (bad sensor or something). I fell in love with the Sherwood Wisdom which gets good reviews here. My husband does not like an AI computer and thinks I should go...

What about Malibu v Ranger v Escape?

I'm looking to replace an elderly (but still functioning and loveable but too big) Zeagle Beta. I tried on and loved the Malibu but had some hesitation about the velcro pockets. Anyone dived with this model and what did you think? I also tried on and loved the Ranger but feel it is...
