Was told, and then confirmed that VDH no longer allows downloading old manuals and catalogs, although they can still be viewed. I can only speculate about rationale.

Whenever you're in water more than a few degrees cooler than your body temperature there is a net flow of heat from you to the water.
I've had similar experiences as you, but instead of the hydration explanation, I theorized that staying warmer means less heat energy lost. Less loss of energy...
For many years we planned to retire to the Cayman – English speaking, low taxes, low crime, good medical care, short trip to the US – but then my wife got a job in Hawaiʻi ...
Our second choice was Belize.
As with so many things, it depends. Id never take a large open water class over a wall. However, on a couple of occasions I have taken a pair of open water students down a wall to 55 feet on dive three of their training after first assessing them on dives one and two and after discussing it...

At least I haven't heard the opposite postulated.
Although there's surely someone who thinks diving nitrox makes them more tired (oxygen toxicity aside).
There are many variables in actual dives and divers, and fatigue is subjective, so it’s difficult to design a valid study. But there are so many independent anecdotes that it’s hard to dismiss the concept. I’m one who thinks Nitrox helps me – especially on multi-day...
