    Utila & the big 3-oh

I went to DeepBlue in 2005..it was an awesome week. No whale sharks because it was July, but Steve, Jasmine and the DM's and workers were the best!

    Roatan vs Utila again again

I went to Utila for a week and stayed at Deep Blue...diving 3 X day, night dive and unlimited shore diving. You can walk out of your room onto the beach and if you have told the staff you want to do a shore dive, your equipment is waiting on you. They also pick it up, clean it and have it on...

Diver's death in Sandwich MA 11/05

YES! Many times as a matter of fact. My instructors emphasized how many things that go wrong during diving with a buddy can be rapidly taken care of, but if you are alone, it's a different story. We were told never to dive alone, and I never plan to!

Deep Blue Utila News on Wilma

Steve, I am so glad yall are ok. Hopefully you won't get any worse effects from Wilma. Living in Louisiana, I am VERY glad they don't predict it to come this way, but I hate to see it go to Florida also. Our prayers are with everyone in Wilma's path. Please tell Jasmine, Shirley, Swen...

    Hurricane Rita

Well, looks like Texas may not get it as bad as was thought at first...Louisiana on the other hand...Our little town in central Louisiana has grown 100 percent! I don't believe there were this many people here after Katrina. My son works in Lake Charles, and he is home, with several friends...

    Terror in the water

Hi ! What they said...! Let me also encourage you not to give up. When my daughter and I took our scuba lessons, the first time we went under in the YMCA pool, she panicked. We had to sit on the bottom of the pool and just breathe. I was a little uncomfortable, but as we got settled, she...

    Utila

I would also recommend Deep Blue..I can't imagine having a better stay. As Aeolus said, we didn't have to lift a finger unless we wanted to. My a/c was great..not too cold, but definitely cold enough. I was not bitten my any no-see-ums, or anything else. On the boat dives, Steve and the DM's...

    Katrina

Your words are so true. I live in La..central La thank goodness. I have one cousin, who, with her mother and her 2 little boys came to my house .. normally a 4 1/2 hour drive took 13 hours. Brooke and her family lost everything except what she was able to bring - 2 or 3 days worth of clothes...

Don, I agree with you. I lived through a not-so-major hurricane in south Louisiana quite a few years ago..I was in Houma, and even though we got no storm surge, there was flooding all over, and I mean DEEP flooding, electricity out, water out, phones out, etc. for several days. There is no way...

    Shark attack in Florida

I really feel for the girl's family - I can't imagine losing a child, especially in such a horrible manner. Many of my friends find it odd that I am not afraid to dive, yet when I go to the beach, I rarely wade in the surf. I have never felt safe playing in the surf. Maybe it is because I...
