Maybe you should consider enrolling in swimming lessons? Although you don't really swim while diving, it may just be a good skill to have in case of an emergency... Good luck! Alex

Sounds a lot like my story... Bought some Cressi Rondines when I got certified... Then switched to Jets. Then bought a wetsuit and had to buy larger Jets... 3 pairs... Anyone interested in Cressi Rondines? :D

The surface support team is also REALLY important: help to gear up, take gear off, provide towels, hot drinks, etc. We sometimes rotate, with divers doing this, but most of the time, some non-diving spouses (or diving ones who also think we're nuts to be doing this in the dead of winter) tag...

This has also worked for us. Having this type of setup allowed us much more comfort while ice diving this winter. Keeping warm during SI is paramount to safe diving! If you're already cold when you're heading into a cold dive, you could easily get in trouble.

The one I saw did seem to have pretty sharp teeth, and quite a few of them too. It did not look agressive (in fact, just lied there in the silt), but I did not feel the urge to get too close to it... What do these things eat, anyway? Smaller fish, I surmise?

Yeah, I'm using a point-and-shoot digital Oly in a casing (Stylus 410). Don't have too many adjustments on it. All my pics in the St. Lawrence have that tinge. I ain't shelling out 4 G for a "real camera" with housing... :D Alex
